I bought this flute sight unseen, as it was listed on ebay used and the price was very attractive for a solid silver instrument, so I took a chance. When I got it I was pleasantly surprised. The solid silver sounds great. The gold springs are very light. This flute is made by Haynes. Ever since Powell hit it big with their step-up Sonare line, every flute company is now coming out with a good-quality step-up line. The Amadeus compares favorably with a Powell or Muramatsu. I also... (read more)

My first bass was a Fender Squier P Bass. For a cost around £200 it is of reasonable quality. This is the Bass I'd recommend for any young bassist looking for his/her first bass. It has a simple design, with different colours such as dark red, blue or black. It has one pickup which does limit the bass to a small tonal range. I have done all sorts of gigs with it, and it has served me well. In college I was... (read more)

Seduced by its good looks and cheap price, I decided to go for the Stellah SRB-4 Bass as a second bass to my Fender Jazz. I must have received a 'Friday afternoon' bass, because the neck was very slightly scuffed, the body was discoloured under the lacquer at the back edge, and the rear strap button was completely missing. I was compensated for the blemishes and I replaced the strap button myself quite cheaply. When I first plugged the bass into my Trace Elliott 300W amp, I was impressed... (read more)

I bought my Pearl Export kit in 1990. It's ferrari red, with the rack. It looks great, and sounds great. I ran into a slight problem with my toms, when cranking on the heads. The threaded part that holds the tension rods would break. I love the kit though. Especially the IMS system. (read more)
