I bought this machine in November 2011. It worked well, making lovely coffee, until March 2012 when there was no power to the machine. The machine went off to be repaired under warranty. It was returned within a few days working perfectly well. Since then, the machine stopped working on a further 3 occasions, with Nescafe replacing the machine in August 2012. Bought this £6 kettle to replace a 6-year old similar Tesco Value Cordless Kettle which had to be replaced owing to slight water leakage from the heating element gasket probably the result of old age and very frequent use. To my eyes, it is a little more stylish than the old model and now has a positively locking lid. Maximum capacity (1.7 litres) and power consumption (max. 2,000 watts) remain the same. North East Water Softeners installed our Twin-Tec 3 softener in January last year (York Area). The difference in the water has been amazing. I have never enjoyed a bath so much!. The texture of the water is so much better and our appliances are so much cleaner. We should have installed one years ago.
