I like fresh coffee, nothing more fresher than grinding coffee beans and brewing them within a few minutes. The jug holds 1-5 litres, bean container a bag of beans 200g. You select the grind the strength and amount of wafer to be used. All looked a bit too confusing, but with trial an error you soon get used to your personal preference. The hard water in my area resulted in needing two immersion tank replacements over 20 years. In addition, the crusted state of the ballcock in the loft was graphic evidence of the effect of scale upon household devices. Had terrible problem with this at first as the water tasted like TCP but after some calls to Breville, it was replaced and all has been well so far. It is a great little addition to the kitchen, boiling water in seconds. Just a cupful, its bound to save on electricity. Even if you do have someone over, to boil the two cups only takes a few seconds longer. Brita filter makes sure you dont have any of those nasty floaty bits. My existing 15 year old Kinetico showed sigs of failing and contacted Water Care for advise upon which an engineers visit was scheduled. Upon the engineers visit it was made clear that i was happy to replace my unit with a new one if a service was not going to resolve the problem. I was told by the engineer that a service would resolve any issues and it was not necessary to replace the unit. Paid £ 140.
