Cash ISA contact only by letter or phone, tried 3 days at different times to call them 30 mins each time all I got was sorry for the delay, not much point in having a telephone account if no one answers the phone !! (read more)

I was recommended this bank by my financial management company. I found the process fairly simple To change my direct debit's etc. My first issue is I have twice had to pay in a cheque which is done thru Barclays. The staff didn't have a clue Who this bank was or what to do. I wasn't impressed. Customer services said that perhaps the Barclays staff Need training. Not half. Very worrying. This Bank is the reason some people get money for nothing. I have had an account with them for 17 years, during this period I have had to pay a total of £368 in Charges for "not having the correct funds in the account" and every time I have shown them there is quite clearly enough in the account they say "it's not a bank error". So they are either lying to me about how much I actually have in the account or it is in fact a bank error. I don't understand how their minds and system works.... (read more)

There are 2 ways to access your bank account - by manually entering details such as customer number, pass number and memorable name/data. The other is via a card reader where you first enter your customer number on-screen, then insert your debit card into the reader, tap in your pin and then enter on-screen the number the card reader has generated.
