The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, often known simply as the Vanquish, was Aston Martins flagship grand tourer produced from 2001 to 2007. The car was largely unchanged until 2005, when the Vanquish S model came out with increased power and some other modifications, including new wheels. It also incorporated the features of a 2004 option package, the Sports Dynamic Pack, involving sportier suspension, steering and brake features. The Vanquish S V12 was the fastest road car in the history of Aston Martin. The end of the Vanquishs production run was celebrated with the Vanquish Ultimate Edition. Aston Martin announced that the last 40 cars built would have a new Ultimate Black exterior colour, upgraded interior, and personalized sill plaques. The Ultimate Edition was the first Vanquish to be offered with a conventional stick-shift manual transmission.
Introduced in 2001, the V12 Vanquish as seen in the James Bond film Die Another Day and was one of the most significant Aston Martin models ever. It pioneered the use of advanced technologies and materials such as aluminium and carbon fibre. The aluminium and carbon fibre technology developed for the structure is a world first aiding this modern classics ability to provide Supercar performance and handling. All the exterior body panels were constructed from aluminium with each individual panel hand tailored to the central structure to ensure a perfect panel fit. The 6.0-litre V12 produces a massive 460 bhp and top speed of 190 mph and 0-60 mph in less than 5 secs. The Formula 1 style six-speed sequential manual transmission and electro-hydraulic clutch operate without the use of a conventional clutch pedal. Gear changing is performed via levers behind the steering wheel. This superb sporting specification and performance is matched by a supreme luxury interior and a comprehensive standard equipment line up.
