The Audi Cabriolet as driven by Princess Diana and other celebrities over the years is one of those cars which has continued to develop its reputation as time goes by. Its as stylish and classy as a Cabriolet gets. The first Audi Cabriolet was based on the Audi 80, the B4 Coup and Cabriolet. These models dropped the 80 name and were simply known as Audi Coup and Audi Cabriolet. The first series Cabriolet was produced from 1991 until 2002, during which time it underwent an intensive revamrogramme. The second series Audi A4 Cabriolet (Type 8H) derived from the Audi A4 became available from April 2002 nearly two years after the demise of Audis previous cabriolet. The Audi A4 became an instant hit, offering a blend of immaculate open top design, along with super performance and comfort. The Audi A3 Cabrio arrived on the scene in 2007 as Audis first ever compact cabriolet. There is also an Audi S3 version of the Cabriolet.
There are two kinds of petrol engine available on the A4 Cabriolet the traditional fuel-injection engine and the FSI direct-injection engine. FSI is a unique Audi technology originally developed for the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race to deliver increased power / torque and enhanced fuel efficiency. The 3.2 FSI Quattro will manage 0-62 in 7.4 secs and hit a max speed of 155mph. All diesel engines from Audi are based on the TDI model

Audi Cabriolet A4 standard interior equipment includes 12V power socket in the boot, adjustable steering column, Drivers Information System (DIS), dust and pollen filter, electronic climate control, front centre armrest with hinged storage compartment, front underseat storage trays and seat-back nets, leather 4-spoke multi-function steering wheel, outside-temperature gauge. There is also a soft-top box variable to increase boot space as required plus a soft-touch boot release. There is also remote-controlled radio-wave central locking (including the glove box), servotronic speed-related power steering, front seat belt pre-tensioners, height-adjustable front seats, Olympic cloth upholstery, through-load facility (ski bag). Other equipment includes the 16 x 7J 7-arm design alloy wheels fitted with 215/55 R16 Y tyres plus Concert radio with single front-loading CD. Electrics include electric front and rear windows, electric headlight adjustment, electrically-adjustable door mirrors, fully automatic electrically-operated soft-top Galvanised body. Plus heat-insulating green-tinted glass, halogen headlights and front and rear fog lights.
The innovative Audi A3 Cabriolet is made for maximum driving pleasure and versatility on account of its open-top and compact shape. A premium product in the compact class, it features a classic cloth hood which can be opened hydraulically in just nine seconds. Special features include a wind deflector behind the front seats which reduces draughts inside the car. The wind deflector is very easy to fit and can be mounted from one side in a few easy steps. The luxury Audi A3 Cabriolet also comes with state of the art navigation system and BOSE sound system. Storage practicality is dealt with by the rear bench which can be folded down 50:50 or entirely. Managing a top speed of 144 mph and capable of 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds, the Audi A3 Cabriolet is initially being made available with a choice of four engines:
