Audi A4 is a luxury compact executive car, on sale since 1994. All Audi A4 petrol engines feature FSI direct-injection technology which was developed by Audi for the Le Mans 24-hour race. FSI produces advanced power, torque and fuel efficiency by creating precise amounts of fuel and air into the combustion chambers. This allows the engine to breathe more easily while electronics monitor the engine load and adjust injection. This results in reduced heat-loss and increased output, with a 15 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and lower exhaust emissions. All A4 diesel TDI engines are based on the common rail system storing fuel and maintaining constant pressures of up to 1,600 bar, ready to feed a series of highly accurate Piezo injectors, which control the rate and point of injection. TDI technology promises power, performance, low fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
