Lexus SC 430 Overview

The SC 430 30 is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury convertible, viewed as a luxury car first and foremost and a sports convertible after that. Its part of the SC range which was launched in 1991 in coupe form. In 2001 the Lexus SC 430 was launched as the second generation model. Power was offered by a 4.3 l 3UZ-FE V8 engine with variable valve timing (VVTi) and a five-speed automatic transmission. The SC 430 V8 could produce 280 hp (208kw), 430 Nm of torque, 0-60 in around 6 seconds. The cars drive-by-wire system provides an instant connection with the 4.3-litre V8 Variable Valve (VVT-i) engine. The 2007 Lexus SC is largely unchanged and is offered in one complete spec package.

The Lexus SC series is a personal luxury coup sold by Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota. The SC features a front engine, rear-wheel drive design and seating for up to four passengers. The first generation SC debuted as the V8-powered SC 400 in 1991, and the I6-powered SC 300 was added in 1992. Both first generation models were produced until 2000. The second generation model, the SC 430, went into production in 2001. The SC 430 features a hardtop convertible design and a V8 engine. The first generation SC was largely styled in California, and the second generation SC was mainly conceived at design studios in Europe. Shortly after the launch of the Lexus brand in the early 1990s, this luxury automaker introduced its SC coupe. The original SC was initially available with a six- (SC 300) or eight- (SC 400) cylinder engine. But even with the debut of these sport coupes Lexus still lacked a convertible model. That gap was filled with the Lexus SC 430.
