    • Ford made the impressive looking Cougar between 1998 and 2001 and it gained a record for performance among many as well as its good looks. It definitely has its fans.
    • The front-wheel-drive Cougar is built on the mechanics of the excellent Ford Mondeo. It also has a reputation for reliability and so if you can find a low mileage version you are really in business.
    • The Cougar also offers good practical benefits. There is a decent sized boot and the rear seats can be folded down which makes it attractive to the mature driver as well as someone who enjoys its style.
    • The Ford Cougar V6 24V is regarded as the best of the Cougar bunch with excellent levels of spec and great performance from its V6 engine.
      1. Over 50 review centre reviews and nearly a 100 pent recommendation rating so far. The Cougar scores consistently highly in our consumers ratings on all criteria including performance, practicality, reliability and value for money.
      2. Over and over again drivers rate the Cougar V6 24V as a roomy, stylish and luxury drive at an affordable price. The V6s are particularly recommended as second hand buys as they are often well looked after. One reviewers sums the Cougar up by wondering why it never sold in greater numbers during production. The lack of numbers on the road though only adds to its exclusivity, he adds.
      3. These vehicles are highly recommended and if you find one in good condition you could have a bargain on your hands that will provide years of pleasure.

Not a thrill-a-second sports car, but a large and comfortable coupe...

Its good looking and its Mondeo-derived mechanicals perform well.

The Cougar is a car you wont be embarrassed to say you owned ten years down the line.

    • Second Hand?

Despite the fact that Mondeos offer some decent bargains in the second hand market the Cougar has always performed very well due to its unique styling and combination of features and as such it appears to be a better investment. If you want to shift it a couple of years later you should find it holds its value pretty well.
