“Memories, Education, and Fun!”

Kidscom.com used to be popular back in 2006-2010 or at least that seemed to be its high point. I had an account on this and it was a very fun and social website. Of course I would like to explain that though being called KIDScom.com and it being full of educational world friendly messages the chat features in free chat should be for around 12+ because like all sites there are people who sneak around the 'safe chat' system. It used to be that you couldn't say the word or phrase if it came up in red, but the recent update is if you say something bad then it builds its own phrase saying that "the phrase is clouded, let me try something else" which the new chat system I must say is fairly annoying, I preferred the original one. Also I rarely see people get in trouble by monitors anymore, I actually don't know if there are any anymore. The Idea Seeker Universe is fairly big. The planet Sarillion contains 4 areas with many rooms to explore. Manabel Island was the beach hangout with village shacks, a restaurant, a science camp and a beautiful waterfall. Jardim Forest was a lush green area with a public park and plenty of shops. The Sarillion Royal Palace area was a grand royal castle with many rooms, a long maze and a large courtyard. The SunPower Foundation Center of Learning was a giant center full of educational messages. On the other planet Washi there was the WowWee Alive Animal Care Center which taught the importance of animals as you cared for them. Along with the Faithful Friends TV corner based on the show. The Primary Games aren't too advanced which makes them look kind of old and the controls seem a little odd. They also mainly have educational messages. They are great for younger kids, boring for older kids. The only reason older kids play them is to get VP (Virtual Points) to buy clothes, plant babies, plant baby food, and furniture. Like a lot of virtual worlds there are virtual pets, KidsComs's case being Plant Babies. They are no Club Penguin Puffle but if they are well taken care of you may walk with them around the Idea Seeker Universe, you can also name them. They are basic and not too hard to take care of. The story of Kidscom is also entertaining. Though I don't know if its being continued since the year is 2014. Princess Kimma and friends try to stop The Darkness, an evil cloud lord, and his Clouds of Chaos from taking over Earth and making people do things like litter, and be rude. (Sounds really lame but it really makes you feel like you're making a difference when you were only 8) The only time you would have to pay is if you bought some KidsCom themed merchandise or you made a membership as an Idea Seeker. If you are an Ally, a non-paying user, it doesn't make much of a gameplay difference. You can't enter the Idea Seeker Park and buy certain objects. It makes almost 0 difference, especially now when I haven't seen this site updated in more than a year. I really hope those who created KidsCom will come back and continue the story of the Idea Seeker Universe but now the site is almost empty, the only users usually go on everyday. This site always has held an emotional place in my heart. Please give this game a try, and don't exit withing like 5 minutes like half of these reviewers did. Take it from me 9 years of experience, Play Smart, Stay Safe and Have Fun! P.S. Remember if you see Kind Zara to say hello I won't bite. P.P.S LET'S GET THIS SITE BACK AND RUNNING!

“"Best Educational Website for Kids"”

★★★★★

written by on 01/08/2011

KidsCom.com is a fun game that kids can play while learning how to save the environment. The chat there is very safe and there are lots of nice people to talk to as well as some who aren't as nice, but it is easy to report them. I personally love KidsCom especially because of the learning experience I also receive from playing on it. There are two different servers that you can chat on, a green server where you can only say words that are approved in KidsCom's dictionary which is for the older kids and a blue server where you can only use pre-approved phrases for younger kids. Like many other children's sites, KidsCom offers a membership program where you become an "Idea Seeker" and receive 8,000 Virtual Points (virtual currency in the game) a month, up to seven rooms for your house, a wider selection of plant babies (virtual pets) three moves you can use in game, and being able to buy more furniture and clothes. I am an Idea Seeker on the game and I find it has a great value for the money you pay. I would recommend KidsCom.com to anyone who wants to play a virtual world and learn things at the same time.

“I would strongly recommend this site to other parents...”

I would strongly recommend this site to other parents for their kids. The younger ones can go on the blue servers where chatting is done only by choosing pre-set phrases. The green servers are for older kids who are looking to connect with other kids around the world.

I'm very glad to have my daughter learning while she things she is just playing - better than the other, mindless fluff out there.

Cool thing for me is I can shop through the site and then her upgraded membership is free and I get shopping discounts and free shipping advantages from some of the stores in their shopping area.

Fun games, educational play in a world where kids can walk around. When my daughter showed me, I did not see the kind of chat that the other reviews talk about. It seemed very safe and friendly. Nice site for kids. Has free stuff they can play and a paid part.

I hope this site gets banned and I hope nobody ever can visit it because its a unsafe site and with inappropriate words and people. I don't think children should be on these sits learning these inappropriate words in my opinion thats about it really therefore I do not recommend KidsCom

I have blocked this site from my kids if I was a parent. It is not suitable for kids in my opinion. My ten year old daughter went on and showed me... I banned her from visiting it. The chat is uncontrollable and something should be done about it!

“Sections on the KidsCom website include games, Idea...”

Sections on the KidsCom website include games, Idea Seekers Universe, Plant babies, chat and buzz, Kidscom Club, cool stuff, adventure, make friends and create.
The games section includes a large number of games including action/adventure, sports, puzzle, silly fun games, brain corkers and Kidscom junior games. They also have 4 featured games of the week. Some of the games on the website allow kids to earn "KidsKash and Virtual Points". These can be collected by members. KidsKash can be gained by playing certain games on the site, joining certain adventures on the site and answering kidskash questions. They can be used to get items from the "Loot Locker". These items include comics, DVDs, door hangers, purses, etc. The Virtual Points are collected by playing certain games, from special promotions and from gaining badges. They can be spent on the virtual market space for virtual items or on plant babies.
Plant babies are basically virtual pets but are "plants". You must sign up to the website to use this feature. It allows you to choose a plant baby from 5, each having a different care rating from very easy to very hard. It is then up to you to look after it make sure it is fed etc.
The Idea Seekers Universe appears to only have 1 place on it at the minute which is where you can purchase things for your plant babies.
The chat and buzz section has many different options, these range from a kids chat which appears to be like a kids chat room with staff members monitoring it, a back to school message board, a weekly poll, a plant baby message board, "geek gadgets" which gives a new gadget, explains what it is and lets kids vote on whether its cool or not and give their opinion on it, a voice to the world section, kidskash questions for kids to answer and a pet arena.
The Kidscom club is a section for kids to sign up to membership, this is free but must be done to gain access to some features of the website. There is also a section on this page to give information to parents/teachers.
The Create section allows kids to make their own cards, scrapbook, write their own story, create gadgets, party invitations, music and share their jokes.
Overall I would say this is one of the best kids fun sites around and one of the safest as when membership is signed up for it asks for a parents email address and before the kids can go onto the chat sites etc the parent must consent to this, therefore parents will know what they're children are doing on the Internet.
