Our chalet was only a 5 minute walk from La Vache and it was recommended to us by our chalet host as a good place to have a meal on her day off.
As the name suggests the decor was cow themed with photos, paintings and cow hides. The staff all spoke English and service was pretty good. We shared starters of calamari and one of prawns and squid. Both were well cooked and not a rubbery squid in sight!
For our mains we ordered Fondues and Raclettes to share and the quality of the beef for the fondue was great, massive chunks of meat to dunk and plenty of salad and chips too. They told us we could have as much salad and chips as we liked, just to ask, which was a nice touch.
The Raclette was massive and was shared between three people (and the rest of us who just had to help out). We didn't have dessert as by the end of the meal most had cheese overload ;)
The kids meals were perhaps the only thing that let it down as they only offered chicken nuggets or bun-less burger and chips.
