My friend booked a table for lunch, having been previously. Much 'posher' than my normal quick lunch places but very friendly and excellent service. The food was EXCELLENT. I will definitely go back. The outside belies what is inside. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Having heard good things about Red or White me and my partner thought we'd pay them a visit. On arrival we recieved a rather frosty welcome and taken to the lounge and offered drinks. Having barely got comfortable in our seats we were rushed into the dining room and seated at our table. The food was bland, unbalanced, and just below par. The beet, artichoke and mozzarella salad was dull and tasteless, the hake ill conceived, and my partners pork belly? bone dry!
We'd been there less than an hour and were rushed through the whole night and made to feel quite uncomfotable. Upon finishing our desserts within moments the restaurant manager dumped our bill down on the table, he may as well of just asked us to leave. Definately style over substance.

First vist to Red or White and the food and servce were absolutely wonderful/ I had the carve it with a fork lamb and my friend had a cooked to perfection steak. The waiter didn't even bat an eyelid when I ordered white wine (I don't like red very much) The white wine was a very good Pinot Grigio, very nicely chilled.
I'll be back to try the lunch menu and to buy from the deli

An oasis in a town where fine restaurants have never existed before.About time. First class welcome, friendly, efficient service ( but not at all over the top with creepiness) and exquisite food extremely well cooked and presented.A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round.
A very clever mix of Italian influenced cuisine and local ingredients.

Lovely welcome and very friendly but immaculate service. Food fabulous and wine very high quality.

Wonderful everything...except the menu! The chef can certainly cook, but seems to not like cooking different things. New exciting Summer menu has hardly changed from the Winter menu. Red or White could be full at lunchtimes if the menu was simpler with lots of salads, pastas etc Instead, rarely more than 3 tables taken. I would eat here weekly if there was more choice!!

The owners of the Red or White in Trowbridge have developed an authentic corner of Italy in unfashionable Trowbridge. With typical Italian passion and flair and a promising programme of events for 2009, they have improved eating-out options in this part of England immeasurably.

Red or White has new owners and they are genuine Italians who truly know how to make you feel comfortable. We were greeted by one of the owners and then enjoyed cocktails in plush seats. The dining room was warm and inviting and the food even better. We will definitely come again. Finally something great in Trowbridge.

Reasonable food awful organisation. Food took over an hour to come (starters). Menu missing evening meals so had to tw1ce get another menu! Most deserts were off. Wine wasnt cold. Clatering in kitchen disruptive throughout meal. Waitress went home halfway through service leaving new girl who didn't know what a glass of port was.
