PLEASE do not go near this comapany!!!!! GRAN CANARIA CC WEDDINGS
We booked to use the company for myself and my partner just to have a religious blessing on the beach as we are already having a civil partnership in the UK....we have friends and family coming out with us. Origionally i was told that i could have a blessing on the beach for 500 euros which is exactly what we wanted (the blessing was due to take place on 20th may 2011) last month i emailed a few times and didnt get a reply (the only blessing is i didnt send them any money) eventually i recieved an email back from paul (bearing in mind i started corospondance with paul in the begenning and then someone named sandy got involved) anyway he sent me an email sayin that basically a blessing that was happening on the beach a few days before had been stopped by the POLICE and they were no longer allowed to do blessings on the beach anymore!!!! He then send me a list of 2 hotel venues where i could have a blessing the prices were 1500 euros and 1300 euros!!! more than 3 times what i had origionally been quoted, i emailed and said its too expensive and then recieved an email back saying they would take 500 euros of the price (which i found completly stange as why coulnt they do that in the begenning) anyway it was still way to expensive!!!!! so i emailed saying this AGAIN and sandy emailed me back saying that my origional quote would never had been 500 euros it was 650euros (im not a liar) so now we have no blessing on the beach and a load of family coming with us!!! we will just have a nice busy honeymoon :) but please donT use, ive heard a few horror stories especially of people going out there and coming back not oficially married...the company has loads of different websites but if u look at the corner of every one u will see the gran canaria cc website logo!!! PLEASE be careful!!!!! if anyone would like i can supply emails of what was sent and recieved!!!

Stay well clear. Would not recommend in a month of Sundays. If you want the day of your dreams do it yourself. Use the wedding planners fee to do your own hoof work and the results will be absolutely how you want them not someones idea of what you want.
Gran Canaria is and island full of lovely local people and a few expats who will bend over backwards to help you and who don't expect £2000 in return.

<br/>You can only get Legaly married in gran canaria in a legaly registered Catholic church if you are a catholic. As a non catholic You can pull a scam off if you own a holiday property here even if you do not live permanently here By signing on the Padron at the town hall every six months,For a duration of two years. before the wedding. and also obtaining the residencia certificate, Even though you are not truly permanently resident here.

<br/>No hotels here have Legal registration for legal marriages. you would still have to have a civil wedding signing day at the local town hall anyway.Or the mayor of the town to officiate as well on the signing of the marriage document. on top of your religious celebration at a local hotel, Basicaly just the same as a civil registry office legal marriage in your own country.

<br/>If you are a true resident here and non catholic, and so able to fully legaly marry here without any deceit on your part. There is only one church on the whole of the island truly registered for legal marriages church in Playa Mogan, Because it is a privately owned church, non catholics(as long as they have proof of residency for two years by signing on the Padron at the local town hall and have obtained the residencia certificate. as well as catholics can have a fully legal marriage in this church. But it is the only one on the island that can do this for both faiths legaly.
<br/>This church will also do just the celebration marriage for both faiths even if none resident after having proof of the civil registry office in your own country. For Catholic non residentys No problem they can have a fully legal catholic wedding in this church. This is a Catholic country so different rules apply for Catholics.

Please do not use the company Gran Canaria Weddings unless you are prepared to have no plans of your own. Paul Gibson charges '2000 fee and then uses venues where he has already put plans in place and they do all the work. He will not allow you to have anything different. He also charges '350 euros for his own time. He lied to my daugher about being able to get legally married in Gran Canaria as a non-resident and cost us a lot of money. You can only legally marry there if you are Catholic. Then he wouldn't be in charge of your service anyway. If you want to get married in Gran Canaria use your fee to have an extra holiday and arrange it yourself. It is easier than you think. He is plausible character but he has cheated us out of a lot of money. And that is a fact he will be unable to disagree with as he knows exactly how incompetent and unprofessional he is.

I found this review very helpful because...It is obvious that a scam is going on. There is no way you can be legaly married as a non resid3ent in Gran canaria if you are not catholic., Some wedding planners do not tell you the truth and pretend you can be, Only to let you down at the last minute by saying the paperwork has gone wrong, so you then have to have a secret registry office wedding in your own country. And then come to Gran Canaria keeping it secret from your friends and family, so you dont look a mug after telling them that you are going to be legaly married in Gran canaria.
<br/>To get your business and money this is what is going on, a very decietfull snd very upsetting scam.
<br/>Some get married legaly here (non Catholics) by using the fact that they OWN a holiday property here even though they do not live here permanently and so make themselves illegaly a resident on the island by obtaining the residency certificate and signing on the padron at the town hall regularly
<br/>in order to pull this off.
<br/>I certainly would not want my wedding tainted by this kind of carry on.

I found this review very helpful because... I have been trying to book Gloria Palace, San Agustin as a venue for our recepetion and they keep forwarding my enquires to them as don't want to deal with international clients directly and we were thinking to use them, so thanks for the heads up!!
