I would like to share my experience at the store to help any future brides with theirs. When measured initially for my dress I was advised I fell between two dress sizes. As I knew I was slightly larger in size I understood I had requested to go down a size verbally. Unfortunately when my dress arrived it was a size larger that I thought I had ordered and big on me which has led to significant alteration fees. Unfortunately neither myself or the store had confirmed in writing the dress size to be ordered. I left the store still feeling a bit surprised about how large the dress was. I have tried to agree with the store on the alteration fees and covering some of the costs but have been unable to. In discussion with the store they advised I had lost a lot of weight which by the scales is only 2lb and I have photos of me then and now and I am similar in size. I would advise future brides to confirm all details in writing and check your dress thoroughly on collection. Overall a very upsetting experience for me with extra costs I had not expected.
