When my daughter tried her wedding dress on, intially the salespeople were quite pleasant. They only had the dress in a size 16 and my daughter is a size 8 but they wrapped the dress around and said that they could fit it properly in the style she liked, short and fifties style.
We ordered the dress several months prior to the wedding and after reading reviews decided to organise the first fitting of the dress in April (wedding in July).

This was a dreadful experience, the dress hung wrong, the bow was in the wrong place, it looked creased. The dressmaker was running an hour late and we felt rushed and pressurized, she reassured us that it would look better after being steamed and taken up properly etc. So stupidly we paid the money (BIG MISTAKE)
Last week 3 weeks before the actual wedding we went back to try the steamed, rehemmed dress on, it just did not look right and instead of being helpful in ways to improve, the people in the shop were rude and made my daughter feel it was all her fault. They were even going to charge her extra for their own incompetence to make the dress right. My daughter hates this dress and it is not what we expected just before what is supposed to be the happiest day of her life! We have taken the dress and plan to sell it on losing £470 in the process however we have managed to find another beautiful dress from Beretex Bridal shop in Leeds, who could not have been more helpful and pleasant. DO NOT TOUCH THE STANNINGLEY BRANCH OF CONFETTI AND LACE WITH A BARGEPOLE unless you want a horrible and upsetting experience.

This review is unfair and unhelpful. This ladies daughter bought a bridesmaid dress in ivory some months earlier and it arrived in perfect condition - the bride had fallen out of love with her simple 60's type dress - she looked stunning in it but she felt it was too plain (something which was obvious at the time of ordering it) and she paid only a couple of hundred pounds for. At fittings we tried all sorts of suggestions to try and help - we spent a long time making a new short underskirt and putting dress nets under, suggesting a bow at the back which the bride loved then didn't like the next day. It's not our fault that the bride obviously felt that she wanted a more traditional dress in the end and we maintain there was nothing wrong with the original dress, our commitment to our brides or our service. This brides mother wanted us to restyle the dress - which we offered - but it would have been an additional cost which we believe is fair and we tried to help at each stage - the comments are extremely unfair and the staff involved have been upset as they take the happiness of their customers to be paramount. Please ignore this vindictive, spiteful brides mother and come and see for yourself what we do. A Lewis-Smith, very proud owner, Confetti and Lace.
