All started for the birthday of my son. In order to make him happy we booked this company with a nice Hummer limousine. They took a deposit of 150 GBP, then 500 more GBP. The day finally arrived, all the kids were ready. But, where was the driver? He arrived about 1 hour late. This can happen, we cannot all be on time, even for such high prices. The driver was vindictive, upset, disrespectful ! All of this of course in the presence of kids, that must have been troubled by such behaviour.... (read more)

i was recommended a1 stretch by a friend and i wish i hadn't listened to her now!!! This terrible a1 stretch company ruined our day. We later found out that the booking wasn't even with a1 and had been placed with another company?? We then booked with another local Cambridge company who told us that a1 are in deep financial trouble and don't operate any cars, and if they do, they are illegal! DON'T BOOK WITH A1 STRETCH!!!!! I find it difficult to believe some of these reviews, I have been using A1 for 7 years to go to Ascot and wouldnt use any other company, the girls in the office are always very helpfull and friendly and I have never been disapointed by the service I have received on the day, and what a brilliant location next to the track!. Its a shame more people dont go on these review sights when they are happy with the service instead of just to complain. Well done A1! (read more)

Hi peeps, Looking for a limo? A1 stretch were one of the biggest a few years back, but now they are going down the drain. Totally agree with the above review. This company is only interested in making money and does not have a clue what customer services or satisfaction is.
Prices are extortionate, you book one limo with them and on the day they send you something totally different and your forced to pay because its not as if you can get a replacement and they know that.
Such a shoddy company. I have no clue how they managed to become the largest but i have heard now that they are going down the drain and i am over the moon with happiness. Exactly what they deserve.

I AGREE. DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY THINK NOTHING ABOUT LETTING DOWN PEOPLE AT THE LAST MINUTE. BOOKED A LIMOUSINE FOR MY DAUGHTERS 21 ST BIRTHDAY AND THEY DIDNT TURN UP!!!. DONT USE THEM!!

Wish I had read this before I booked a limo for my daughters 21st birthday. Due to pick up 8.15pm to go to London. Called me at 8.30 to say hummer broken down and can't get car until 9.30! I have never been so let down. Luckily local taxi firm came up trumps and got the group up there all though an hour late. A totally rubbish company that I wouldn't touch with a barge poll

Just to reply to this review - this is very unfair as customer isnt telling the truth , we did sent a Hummer H3 but on route to the customer the car did genuinely brake down and customer was called immediately and advised that instead of letting them down completely , that a Chrylser stretch was on route to collect but would be around half hour , the customer refused this and said she would make her own way - so what can we do we have tried our best not like some bogus companies who take your money and dont even bother to show up - so to write a bad review is unfair when we all we could for the customer. This irritates and gets my back up when customer lie just because of something that is out of our control............. try booking with Limo brokers see what happens then maybe .....

I genuinely accepted your apology and your refund and did not cause a fuss the following day having had time to calm down. I am grateful that there was no problem over the refund which obviously improved my feelings towards your company. However, you were not personally involved in the telephone conversations on that evening. Your driver did not and could not guarantee half an hour. In fact, it was one hour minimum (9.30pm) but he could not guarantee that would be the case which is why I had to refuse because my daughter and her friends would have been really late getting to their venue (if at all) which means I would have lost the money from the table booking as well. It was suppose to be a lovely surprise for my daughter but I will never think of booking such a vehicle again with any company as the let down was just too upsetting for everyone involved, I accept that it was beyond your control but I do think that as the car had been due to me by 8.15pm and it had apparently broken down at least half any hour prior to that, your company could have taken the initiative to send a car straight out in replacement and not waited until 8.30pm to ask me if that is what I wanted. That is what happened and I take a dim view of your insinuation that I was lying about any of the information put in my review as that was absolutely not the case. If I had thought for one minute that your replacement car was going to turn up then I obviously would have gone ahead with it but as I said your colleague COULD NOT guarantee it.

Dear Customer...
In ref to this comment i cant understand whether you actually had a car from A1 or from the Cambridge company as you have stated you booked with another company. so did you go out in one of our cars as we have no record of a complaint of ruining anyone`s day.
