The basic mechanics of the site are fine but they have no site search available. This support is the worst I've ever used.Chat and email only and they never seem to understand a simple question I have to learn everything on my own. some things they told me I couldn't do I ended up doing. The font editor is the worst I've ever used also..

Well, based on the strength of some reviews I saw on a 'Top 10 website builders' list, I was fool enough to sign up to SiteBuilder's e-Commerce plan, which I believed was a fairly good deal for just £16.24 per month, billed on a monthly basis. This was supposed to include a variety of 'extras', one example being the SEO Tools e-Book, which was supposed to help you market your website. After going through the checkout process I realised that my initial payment wasn't the £16.24 I had understood it would be, but two separate payments of £14.99 and £9.99 respectively, which were taken from my card immediately. These figures didn't correlate to what I had signed up for, so at first I was baffled, but I soon discovered that the £9.99 charge was for the aforementioned SEO Tools book, which, remember, was supposed to be free! I don't think I even added it at the checkout because it was listed as included in my plan, so quite how that happened is anyone's guess. I contacted them about this by e-mail, but it wasn't easy. The first contact link I found wasn't live and did nothing when I clicked on it, which immediately set alarm bells ringing. I was comforted a little when I did finally find a way to get through to them, but was disappointed once again when I received their response. Basically, they just confirmed what I had paid and what they had charged me, giving me NO EXPLANATION of why they had charged me for something which was supposed to be free. But that's not the worst of it. Two weeks later, they took another £29.99 from my account, which would seem to be the real monthly price of the 'service' they offer, even though it is NOT what I signed up for. I was taken aback that they should want to charge me two weeks in advance, but according to my invoice I wasn't due to pay again until the 10th November, which evened things out. Meanwhile, I tried to contact them about the dishonest pricing, but this time around I couldn't find how on earth this was possible -- save the useless link I had encountered before. Today I checked my account to find that they have taken another £29.99, even though it shouldn't have come out yet (if at all). Obviously I'm furious and want to cancel, but I just can't get hold of them. Next step is to contact my bank to cancel the subscription on the basis of being had. Sorry, SiteBuilder, but perhaps you'll learn to answer your customer's questions properly in the future, not to mention keeping your pricing transparent and being easily contactable. Employing people with good English skills might also be an idea.
