Please do not use this company. I had a domain registered through them which they did not renew, despite taking payment. I lost the domain. Emails are ignored. No refunds. Their merchant account should be suspended. I am still receiving payment reminders for renewal of a domain which I lost over a year ago. This reflects their level of non-professionalism. In closing: Terrible, Dishonest, Unprofessional. Avoid. I would score zero, but the minimum score accepted is 1*.

4 years after leaving yorhost because they did not renew my domain after I had paid them to do this (this took me weeks to sort out and cost me £££ in lost sales) they still have the cheek to send me a bill every 2 years for renewal! Avoid yorhost at all costs. If you are currently with them get your domain back now and get a proper honest registrar.

Not sure how this appalling company is still operating. they have taken my money, failed to re-register my domain despite taking the cash. Even more appallingly, a search reveals that in fact the domain name is up for sale anyway despite my supposedly owning it until September 24. Paid these people to manage hosting took money but failed to register with domain registry. 8 years work down the pan with the loss off my website and all that was associated with it!! avoid these ididots

yorhost has Seriously disgusting business practice.For over two years my service has been disrupted sometimes the emails sometimes the website, mostly both.There is no contact and i mean no contact absolutely no reply to emails ,nothing ,zilch,zero even recorded letters with threatening court action go un replied. I have no idea how this business is left to trade taking honest peoples hard earned cash and have no way of contacting them. I am so angry I want to swear at the person who took my money and doesn't give a decent service. Surely if i set up a company,took money to offer a service and didn't do so i will be arrested right ? Well this idiot needs to be arrested and sent to court for a trail !

I have had problems year after year, but with patience have received monosyllabic responses. This year has now taken the biscuit. Not much if anything is working, email is down and I have contacted YorHost repeatedly by any channel I can. Nothing has returned a response. I have paid for a domain I can't use and I cannot get support to find out what is going on. DO NOT USE YORHOST. I also had YorHost after being with Web Mania. This year was the worst . I paid renewal in good time for Oct 2015 but my web site has not shown up . I wrote /called /emailed as so many others have. No response. I sent a recorded delivery letter which was tracked and signed for.- so therefore RECEIVED. Then, amazingly I received it back from the post office saying GONE AWAY> How can the post office do this after the letter was received and signed for? Hoodini is up to his old tricks. More...... I have now paid another firm for Web Hosting again but did not have HTML files . So I have had to pay a third party to find them and move them over . Still struggling with this.. to get it working . If I do get it working I have lost many years of optimization. I have now paid out £140 . and been without my website for many months. How do we deal with this guy.? Trading Standards appear to be a toothless tiger. How do I get my money back and my website files? Any genuine helpful suggestions appreciated.

I gave them another chance and renewed my web domain hosting. they have again messed up and do not even rep.y to emails. They should not be allowed to continue in business

As with web-mania, Yorhost has been the worst! Having registered 4 domains with them over the years, I am concerned how I will transfer these to some other provider, given what people are saying here. Further, they have allowed a domain name to lapse, even after renewal was paid and my client is incandescent. Do not use these people. Go elsewhere!!!!

Used to be so good. Do not expect anything. I paid for hosting, payment processed, nothing, Domains renewed and paid for, nothing. Use a company that at least does what it says! Plenty of other that provide a great, even good service for your money. This, sadly, is not one of them!

Well after making a failure out of WEB MANIA he came back as YORHOST and did it again to a number of other people. Some have managed to get out with just scratches whilst others, like me, have lost their websites for good, along with their money of course. Although I do notice that he managed to sell the house in York in 2011/12 for £600,000 – that is a matter of public record so no secrets being divulged. I paid good money for renewals that never happened, he kept bombarding me with emails telling me to pay up when the money went out of my Lloyds account into his Lloyds account inside an hour. Anyone trying to use his YORHOST address of 15 Queen Square, Leeds, W Yorkshire LS2 8AJ will find that this is just an accommodation address run by the local university, who also answer the telephone for him. His website was designed in India, so even that isn't something he can hold any credit for. I am determined that no matter how small the money that he owes me, the hassle he has caused me makes me want to follow him to the ends of the earth and exact some form of revenge. But then according to ICAAN his YORHOST.NET web address is about to expire as he hasn’t paid that bill either. However, I will troll the webworld letting everyone know about him and his business ethics. So don’t worry about life, and give my regards to her on her birthday this month. (also public domain information). You will have to wait until April for your birthday though.

If it was possible to give Yorhost a minus mark I would. We paid our annual fee on 18th September 2015 and received an acknowledgement. On the 30th October we discovered that our website had been switched off. I have sent Yorhost 25 e-mails and a letter before action by guaranteed delivery and got zero response since last Friday. We have now managed to rest control of our domain name from Yorhost by contacting the registrars. Predictably Yorhost didn't react to them either, nevertheless the transfer has now been completed. This isn't the first time that this has happened to us but gladly it is now the last. It has been very damaging to our business and we will be seeking to recover our costs incurred this week from Yorhost and a refund for the fees. If you have been hoodwinked in to using the company can I suggest that you do everything you can to get away from it long before any fees are due to them, that way the owner cannot impact on your company business. I've complained to trading standards about Yorhost too, the company should be closed down and the owner not allowed to trade again.

Takes money for services he doesnt register or supply then ignores you apart from sending requests for more money. Be warned, avoid like the plague

Paid for renewal and hosting in June 2015. They took the money and did not renew with Nominet. This company is best avoided has wasted much of my time and money. Don't know why they are still allowed to trade

How can Yorhost still be trading? I wish I had read the review below before signing up with them again! Took payment but did not renew my domain! No response to emails, it took me several days and cost more money to get the registrar changed. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!

Yorhost sent an invoice for my domain name renewals, which I paid. The domains expired and were not renewed. I had to transfer them to a new registrar incurring an additional fee. All email communications with Yorhost requesting a refund of my payment were completely ignored and consequently I never received the money back.

Two invoices paid for renewal ( double change on one item) because I wanted site to run now before changing later in the year but now have nothing. No money, no contact, no site? Has anyone reported them to police/ nominee etc? What to do.? Can I get my domain name back?

After years of rubbish service from Yorhost when a problem arises, well documented in other reviews, decided enough was enough when again they didn't answer a simple query re renewal invoice. Got in touch with Nominet and operator stayed on the line and talked me through the transfer process. Had already decided on 4UH to host web site primarily because you can host two web sites on their basic package. Like Yorhost they have a telephone and Live Chat but unlike Yorhost there is a real person there to answer the phone and pick up your chat request. So for the modest investment of £12, Nominet transfer fee, my web sites were up and running within eight hours. Result!
