No customer service, nobody answering the calls but the took the money though. 2 weeks passed and no domain no contact 3 calls just to here the answering machine and 4 emails with no reply. “Domain transfer problem”

In desparation at lack of support from Yorhost, I decided to transfer the domain I use to another ISP. I logged in and found a facility to change the ISP tag. I changed this as required. I then attempted to transfer the domain to the Isp host I wanted to use. Several attempts to do this failed. I logged back into yorhost to check the domain management, the domain was no longer there. i am having the same problems. I have paid for the renewal this was left to expire! how do change the ISP tag my site has gone in to redemeption. How do I retrieve my content back.

Looks like it has all been said and I totally agree with the other reviews. If you are on yorhost get out now. If you try to run a business with yorhost you are dead in the water. I had web-mania for a few years, started OK then went downhill, when it became yorhost, carried on down. “Unbelievably bad”

Many years I was an unfortunate client of Web Mania hosting owned by Nathan Barnes. Due to poor service I moved to another hosting company. However he refused to issue an EPP Code / domain transfer ID so even though I am hosting with another company, I have had to pay him to renew my domain names. Every year I have had to pay Web Mania then yorhost.net for the domain name renewal fees. As already written from the other users I am also facing serious problems with Yorhost. Even if renewing the service my domain is being parked for a third year in a row, I am loosing patience because who should be supporting me is not doing his job, he is not replying on the phone and noone of my 6 mails got a reply. “Very bad service, do not use.”

I am stuck with Yorhost or Webmania as Nathan Barnes will not assist moving in anyway. In fact he will not assist at all. As others have reported at renewal time every year without fail emails stop working and websites are parked. “Steals your money”

Processes payments for domain renewals, but doesn't renew the domains and doesn't reply to support emails. Phone is not answered and the other number is out of service. Despite this the registrar they use (they are an OnlineNIC reseller) makes domain registrants jump through hoops that contradict ICANN rules before they can once again get control of their domain… Read Full Review

I moved my web site from YORHOST last year after they took my payment but didn't renew my domain. Today I've had a reminder from them that my account is now due for renewal!!! Cheeky buggers!

I have been with Yorhost, previously Webmania for several years but the last 3 years I have had the same problem around renewal time. Despite paying in good time, they don't register the domain name and the site gets parked. I had my domains registered with Webmania for a number of years, I had my hosting with a much better company and wanted to transfer my domains over. Hi there, this is really interesting - so it's not just me wanting to leave horrible Yorhost. I have my host and my domain name with them and I am wanting to close my website down however, having tried ringing the company, an automated answer phone message comes on saying to email them which I have at least four times now - I have still had no reply. I am absolutely stuck! It needs to go and so does the company! Any advice really welcomed. Cheers

“Renewals, Citizens Advice and Yorkshire Trading Standards ”

No point in repeating the same experience described in virtually every other post ... total nightmare - and seriously damaging to both our business and our clients. We have been asking for authorisation codes to transfer away from YorHost for 10 months. We have followed other's advice including writing by Special Delivery, threatening legal action, e-mails, etc. etc. - all with absolutely no success. York Trading Standards have been involved for well over a year, (as my review here of about a year ago) but although they eventually managed to get me a refund they seem to want to protect (name removed). Why on earth haven't they prosecuted for breaches under a number of relevant Acts?

“Do not go anywhere near this company”

I have now spent considerable time helping three people move their domains and/or hosting away from this company. On all three occasions we had to get Nominet involved because YorHost/Web-Mania/Nathan Barnes would not answer emails/calls or provide the domain transfer authorisation they are legally required to. “Worst hosting site ever”

They have managed to lose our website even though they send us request for payments. We cannot get anybody to answer emails/Telephone or engage in Live Chat. We needed to put updates on our website and due to an administrative error the password and username got lost. No problem though there is a Forgot Password button on the website we use that. I have used Web-Mania for years to managed domains and hosting. I had a few support issues but continued with them due to the amount of work involved in transferring a domain away. I have had two new customers this month request help with moving a .com domain away from Webmania. I have written a blog article here on how to do it.

Nominet is easy (.uk)

ICANN (.com .net etc) is much harder.

The phone line goes to answer phone, my emails are not being responded to and I have no other options.
