Used names.co.uk to register our domain and used them for 2-years for this purpose, we informed them that we would be renewing for a third year, but would not make payment until we returned from holiday. Was told by their staff we had until the 1st of the following month to make payment, which was duly done on our part. Names took our payment, gave us confirmation domain was registered for another year, but then emailed us a few hours later to tell us our Domain was in quarantine and required a £90.00 payment to Eurid which is the register of .eu domains, to release it. We thought this was absurd, so we contacted Eurid, Eurid informed us the quarantine fee is 4 euros. In the end we did not fall for their deception, we were able to release our domain ourselves through Eurid and register with another Domain company for a year, for only 8 Euros, including VAT.

All .eu domain holders beware of this ridiculous attempt of deception on their part, contact Eurid directly to transfer your domain for next to nothing.
