Be Aware when Leaving Hosting UK. £11,000 worth of bills when we are out of contract.

After being a good customer of Hosting UK for well over 2 years, their treatment of us, after we notified them that we were terminating services, has been disgusting and unacceptable.

We rented 2x dedicated servers from Hosting UK on a fully managed service.

After an incident with hardware failure that Hosting UK failed to recognise before we did, we decided to co-locate instead. We didn't feel that we were getting the fully managed service we were paying for at that stage.

We gave Hosting UK 30 days notice of termination as we were well out of the 1 year contract agreement. This is very fair because we paid 1 month in advance anyway.

The person I dealt with of hosting UK claims that there is some sort of renewal
anniversary that we have not been made aware of in any way . We specifically asked him for a 1 year contract from the outset.

Due to this, Hosting UK are pursing payments for a further 6 months worth of invoicing, even though we are 1.5 years out of contract and do not require the service anymore. This equates to over £8,000 worth of hosting that is not required.

Hosting UK also billed us a £3000 invoice on the same day that we notified them of termination.

The conduct and behaviour of the person I dealt with of Hosting UK has been appalling. He knows full well that we asked for a 1 year contract and he has not discussed any renewals with us until after we terminated our service.

Had our contract been genuinely renewed, we should have at least been notified.

We do not recommend Hosting UK to anybody in any circumstances.
