“Common problem”

Having read some of these posts, I'm in the same position. they are demanding money in advance for a service I no longer need with the threat of legal action.
Has anyone called their bluff and refused to pay or do the debt collectors get the money? Perhaps somebody with legal knowledge could advise these 100's of customers where we stand in relation to their "terms and conditions"
I intend to research their Directors and perhaps make a personal call!!!
