“Worst Customer Support in Hosting industry!”

I had over 20 domain names with 1&1 and I didn't like their billing principles. With all other registrars I have used (have several providers don't keep my eggs all in one basket) when your domain name expires and you don't pay the renewal fee the domain name is released back into the wild. With 1&1 they hound you to make a payment and threaten to call in the debt collectors. Customer service reply's for this are simply the invoice has been raised pay it... So refusing to pay it and waiting to see what happens.

I would be wary of waiting to see what happens. From my own and the experience of other reviewers 1and1 just refer you to a debt collecting agency. It pays to persist with 1and1 (painful as it is) to sort it out before they reach that point otherwise you get in a worse mess with having to pay or getting a bad credit rating. Threatening legal action sometimes helps or at least gets a response. They pretend they haven't received contract cancellations by email.

I've just received invoice to renew domains I transferred over 1 month ago.

Same story as you...emails going backwards and forwards. Not going to lose sleep over it. It'll never stand up in court.

Am using the power of social media to spread the word, it's the only way to put them out of business.
