They hosted my sites for a while but had to move them all due to bad customer service. Telephone staff were unhelpful and unknowledgeable. A senior staff member was plain rude. Hosting was okay, didn't really have much down time but expensive.

I guess you were extremely unlucky.

I have used these guys for years and everyone I have ever spoke to was most helpful/knowledgeable.

If I were you I would communicate via email, keep a record of any transcripts and if you were spoken to in a rude way you could do something about it. I never call them I always use the online ticket system. This allows time for them to read and reread and understand your questions to provide the correct responses.

...I wouldn't discount them down to your one experience.

I actually sent in a complaint via recorded delivery and never heard back. I followed this up with emails and no one seemed that concerned about resolving the issue.

I don't complain about services lightly, preferinig to give the company the opportunity to put things right. I don't give bad reviews without first exploring all avenues in an attempt to find a solution. I don't think this is an isolated incident as other reviewers have also complained. This site gives users an opportunity to give feedback on services and products, people can then make up their own minds on whether to take on board what has been said.

You say that you've never called them but why shouldn't we be able to call in for assistance if needed? That's what customer service is for. If they can't cope with calls then they shouldn't list a helpline.

However, I'm pleased to hear that you've had a good experince with this company, perhaps they've pulled their socks up, which is a good thing for them and for their customers.
