Bought softner just over six years ago whilst living in Hertfordshire - another hard water area but had no problems. Moved to Norfolk and installed softner into new kitchen.

Allegedly, according to Monarch "there is something in the water" causing the resin to explode. Now faced with a having to replace water softner as Monarch have washed their hands.

Monarch claim to have "proven reliability" " proven performance" and are "suppliers to H.M the Queen's Estate at Sandringham" The same water that supplies Sandringham also supplies my home - I wonder if Sandringham are experiencing "something in the water".

Will now, based on the reviews I've read will be contacting other suppliers.
