“Pricey but really good”

We previously had a single-cylinder electric softener. We had all sorts of problems with this flooding, stopping working and beeping in the middle of the night. And eventually it packed up completely (leaking from the top) after only 3/4 years.
We now have the Harvey M2 MiniMax installed by Capital Softeners. Was quite pricey. But is a nice compact unit, doesn't need plugging in, really simple to use (nothing to go wrong) and really easy to see when the salt has run out and put the new blocks in. Would recommend if you can afford it. The block salt is much less messy, and much easier to use, but is also (I think) a bit more pricey than the regular salt.
