We had the Harveys soft water system fitted at the start of summer 2011, after having years of aggro with limescale as were in a very hard water area. The system isnt the cheapest on the market, but its very efficient, does the job really well and the difference is immeasurable. Like everyone we took the sales pitch with a pinch of salt (pardon the pun) but the system has done everything the salesman says it does. Its already paying for itself in terms of the reduced amounts of detergents, shower gels and bubble bath we use in the house, and we no longer have to pay out a fortune for limescale removers. The only niggle if their is one is I have to cart the salt blocks around, and they do weigh a bit, although it is partly our fault as we bought a big supply. My wife is happy now because im not forever descaling the kettle, dishwasher and washing machine, and her tea tastes better now
