I purchased my Junghans Mega Solar Ceramic around 2001, I loved it, it did everything I expected, looked good, worked good.
BUT:
2010 new rubber inserts needed in the strap - very expensive.
2012, it doesn't work and I find out that there is a common, expensive fault that rears its ugly head at about 8-10 yrs old.
Therefore a very nice, but not inexpensive watch, requires costly attention to the strap every 8yrs and even more costly attention to the mechanism every 8-10yrs.
This is not what one expects from German engineering, the limitations should have been part of the marketing.
Might just as well get a normal watch and change the battery every few years, or an automatic watch.

I bought new rubber and fiber straps from Germany and rebuilt the watch band with the original ceramic pieces.
Total cost including delivery $65, not a waist of money for a brilliant watch like this, now it looks like new again.
