Having read the reviews here we did have similar problems with machine banging and moving around the kitchen. However when I rang hoover/candy within warranty they sent an engineer to do a software upgrade to our machine this has fixed all spin problems no banging no dancing around kitchen etc. The engineer explained that the size of drum is very tight inside the cabinet and the early models had a step up spin the upgrade alters this to a smoother transition to top spin speed it worked. It's only one step up from taking your clothes to the local river and rubbing them against a rock . The drum bangs and crashes against the sides of the machine from start to finish ...... Which is unfortunate and obviously extremely tedious as the cycles are so, so long . Imagine having a studio apartment or a flat ....... It just wouldn't be possible . We do try and put the machine on when we go to work so we don't have to tolerate the noise pollution . When we return home no doubt about... (read more)

I've now had mine nearly two years and no end of trouble, it stops mid cycle and goes onto "cold wash" or doesnt drain properly, even with the filter cleaned and replaced, it is very temperamental and doesnt seem to like a full load. The only way i can currently get it to function is if I put it on a drain cycle at least once after every wash and then no guarantees. Such a dissapointment and an absolute waste of money. I would honestly say the worst electrical item I have ever bought. Oh... (read more)

I brought the 7lb Hoover washing machine in Silver.. just dreadful, this machine is so flimsy and does not wash clean. I've been washing clothes for over 40 years, with no problem so I know it's nothing to do with me over loading or using too much soap/conditioner. This machine has a mind of its own, cutting down washing time and then turning out clothes still dirty, even on a 95 programme!
6 times out of ten I have to wash them again.
Be careful using the full 1200 spin, it will pulp your clothes. I've had this machine for 2 months. Waste of money. Think Hoover should stick to making Hoovers.

I only wish I had read the other reviews before I bought my hover washing machine . An optima wmh168d. It is the noisiest machine I have ever had . It is so noisy it wakes me up if I run it during the night. It makes strange banging noises which the engineer said was caused by the. Machine arranging the load. I bought Hoover for its name but would never do it again my new machine is worse than the old one it replaced .my machine also dances across the floor as described in the other reveiw. (read more)

I bought this machine because of the name, spin speed and the "quality" historically of the Hoover brand. How wrong I was! The machine does wash well and spins very well, BUT it "dances" around so much. The drum does not seem to be damped at all and bashes around inside the casing as the drum starts up and gets to speed. When it reaches full speed the whole machine moves around so much it ends up moving out of it's location and across the floor! It does that whether it is fully loaded or has... (read more)

The Hoover WMH168D washing machine has a generous 8kg capacity and has the capability of expertly handling of even the largest loads, giving one a light laundry day. This machine has fast spin speeds of 1600 r.p.m that basically means that you don’t need to wait for a long time to have your clothes dry, which many Reevoo consumers loved. The Hoover WMH168D washing machine contains a wide range of modes that can cater for different types of laundry including materials such as silks, sports and other delicates, and still giving an insurance of higher level for all garments.
At Idealo, some clients said that they had satisfaction after using the machine for two months with one pointing out that they had a large family of four children, hence they needed something with a large capacity and that is the reason they went for the Hoover WMH168D washing machine. They added that the machine was efficient and quite even though they did have an issue with the spin taking a while to get started.
Many customers at Reevoo were happy with the good choice of programmes on Hoover WMH168D washing machine, with the inclusion of the smaller wash, and on top of that plenty of spin speeds. Some customers said that they were impressed with the machines quietness. Some said that the drum was big but it couldn’t go back so far that one had to get on their knees to check if it was empty. Customers at Comet gave the Hoover WMH168D washing machine a high rating on quietness, features, ease of use and its washing ability, with many saying that the machine was superb and good value for money.

We have been experiencing exactly the same problems with our WMH 168D and I was very pleased to read that it can be sorted out with a software upgrade. Unfortunately my machine is 15 months old so I will telephone Hoover tomorrow!
