“Hotpoint WMD 960 should be avoided at all costs...”

My first machine broke never worked as it should but it took some time to be sure that it wasn't me or my wife using the wrong setting or something like that. When we reported it 30 days after buying it, we were told that it could not be replaced as it was over 28 days old, so an engineer was sent out to recify the fault. He came out and replaced some parts but it still didn't work!
I phoned support again and they told me they would still not replace it and an engineer had to be sent. THey refused to let me speak to a manager so I had to e-mail a member of the board directly and sure enough a new machine was promied within 24 hours.

The new machine has now also broken down after only 17 months use with a fault that will need another engineer call out, but at a minimum cost of £80 I fear that this could be the start of an expensive process. It would seem to me that these machines are badly made and/or designed as although they may look good, there are now planty of other reviews on the web suggesting that this machine is unreliable.

I have learn't my lesson with this experience and decided that from now on, I will only buy makes such as Bosch, which seem to make machines that will last
