admittedly if you leave dryer on until items completely dry (full load for over the 40 minute shortest time setting) they are impossible to iron, I learnt that after the very first time I used it for drying, I went to the local laundrette and they explained this will happen as standard... and to take them out whilst still slightly damp; alternatively if I'm short on time I shake and fold them before putting them back in to dry fully, which also works. aside general wash and dry settings the other functions are unclear. I have also heard negative stories within our apartment complex, different to mine, and it does sound like it might take off on occasions, maybe due to the odd and slight overload, that said, I have had mine for four years and it is still going strong. the proof is in the pudding. fyi if you do a short cycle on a low heat setting and use powder not capsule with a dark wash you may find streaking though this may be a generic thing in the washing machine world... I have disliked this model since the moment I bought it. It is not user friendly at all but that may be my inexperience (although I have had previous machines with no problem). Because I usually get washing done elsewhere it only gets used lightly once a fortnight. Now After less than 3 years and about 75 uses it has started going wrong. Firstly, it wouldn't fill with water, then it wouldn't spin, now it just made a loud bang and tipped over as if some heavy internal part has been dislodged. It is only prevented from falling ove completely by the countertop holding it in place. Indesit want £200 just for a call out, if I have understood correctly. Is this supposed to be "durable" under the Sale of Goods Act?

The Indesit IWDE12 washer is fine, plenty of options although I generally only use one or two.
Unfortunately the drier is absolutely terrible. Get a piece of A4 paper and screw it up as tightly as you can. Open it up and look at it. That's how your washing will come out after it has been dried. Whether you use one of the 3 timed options, or the 3 "dampness" options (for ironing, hanging or placing in a drawer) it will come out screwed up and impossible to iron.
