Zabby's review of Hotpoint WD860

★☆☆☆☆

“AVOID”

Written on: 09/05/2012 by Zabby (1 review written)

Have had Hotpoint WD860 since 2007 - from day one we had issues! The "super silent" machine is anything but! Sounds akin to a jumbo jet taking off, or someone shovelling a bag of stones into the drum!
Within the first months, we had them out to replace the motherboard. Took out the extended warranty with D & G and have since had them out numerous times (cant remember exactly how often, but since Sept last year, they have been 11 times and I am currently awaiting a senior engineer to visit on Monday!
The mega issue I have now is, Indesits policy is if it can be fixed, they will fix it - doesnt matter how long the "fix" lasts - I had an engineer out last Friday - he "fixed" it, for it to break on Saturday.... I re-booked and had another engineer out yesterday (Tuesday), he "fixed" it, and it broke today (Wednesday).
I have spent today being pinged back and forth between Indesit and D&G, each saying only the other could authorise a replacement - they are sending a senior engineer out on Monday and must give me a decision as to whether it is cost effective for them to continue fixing it. I have a sneaking suspicion, he will probably "fix" it.... until the next time it goes wrong, probably next Wednesday!!!
I have 4 children, myself and my other half, we cannot continue with a machine that is broken more often than it isn't - they just don't seem to get that though! ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!
Steer well clear!
