Purchased Karrimore 'Event' boot March 2010 after recommendation from friend. Initially very comfortable, light and water proof on day walks and a couple of long weekends in the Lake district. Just finished Tour Mont Blanc in the Alps, the sole became worn through after 7 days and the rubber glue to upper started to peel away! The boots have plenty of tread left but both soles appear to have lifted from the main boot and disintegrated.
I am aware that the boots are 18 months old but bearing in mind I have only worn them (out of a max. 70 weekends since purchase) for say 30 day walks (on soil in Hertfordshire) 3 long weekends in the Lake district and 14 days recently in the the Alps I believe this to be very poor value. I did pay £90 for these boots from Blacks (did I pay over the odds!!!) and consider the quality to be very poor, other (cheaper) boots I have had have lasted much longer. Whats happened to Karrimore quality?
