Miele are built to last - and this is my 3rd. Outstanding cleaning - cat hair disappeared finally!!!! Bought a mini Dyson for the same problem (with pet tool) - cleaning time for that is 6 minutes with no electrical backup. This Miele is a hell of a lot cheaper than any Dyson cylinder/upright and it has a turbo brush - outstanding!!!!! Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars - no on board tool storage. Compared to Dysons which I find heavy and my wife who has mobility problems cannot manage - this is excellent! Thoroughly recommend

I got this vacuum after I got so fed up with my cylinder Dyson, the pipe had split, it didn't pick up the bits, and fell over when I pulled it. My parents have had this Miele model for 9 years and I borrowed it. It was only 1500watts but still has a strong suction. This model is now 2000watts. It has 6 settings which are all excellent . The carpet head lifts the carpet with its powerful suction, the hard floor setting is great and you can get the smallest of bits from the edges. It follows me around with the slightest of pulls and is light enough to carry up the stairs. The recoil of the cable is by one touch and very quick. This model comes with the turbo brush which I use twice a week to really beat the carpet and pick up the dog hairs. It has 3 accessories which can be clipped onto the hose but I prefer to keep it in the cupboard until I need them. The bags can be expensive but if you shop around you can find them cheaper.

Got this due to Miele having a good reputation for reliability and quality. Also when I tested the noise levels in the shop (Currys) it was really quiet. This was very important as we have a 1 and a 3 year old who both cried when we used the old electrolux upright which was very noisey. This has six power sttings, lots of tools including a a hair picker uper for want of a better word which is rotated by the vacuum. Cleaning is excellent. It uses bags about £2.50 each and a charcoal filter which is suppoed to last a year and that is £12 to replace. The air that comes from the xehaust is warm but very dust free. The only fault is the chisel end tool stay round too long before it goes to oblong so you cannot get between your cars seats too well. It is also quite light and easy to cary around so now my wife cleans upstairs too...on the rare occasion I do not get there first I have to add to be truthful!
