Finally took the plunge and got a gtech airram while they were discounted having paid top dollar for a Bosch that was heavy, difficult to get upstairs and expensive bags and filters. It doesn't have tools which is obviously a disadvantage but you can buy a handheld vac to go with it and if the two bought together, you get a discount. Other than that, it is a dream to use: light, easy to carry, attractive, very efficient cleaning and best of all, no dustbag or awkward filters. When full you just lift the dust tray from the bottom of the vac and empty the neat bails into the bin. Sponge filter is a cinch to remove and runs under the tap until clean and when dry popped back in. 4 hours to charge, then 40 mins cleaning time and because you can zip around so quickly with this cleaner that gives you 2/3 cleaning sessions before a recharge required. Very clear digital green light to indicate length of charge and goes red when running low to empty. Easily deals with hard floors and carpets/rugs with no fiddly buttons to press. Charging cord on the short side so be sure you have a socket adjacent to where you have room to either store the vac or leave it temporarily while charging. Comes with a battery, but you can buy spares and if bought with the vac, you get it considerably cheaper. Impressed with the 5 year guarantee but you must register online or by phone to activate this. Customer service seems efficient and quick. I would really recommend this, especially for the elderly or for quick regular clean ups but you will need either another vac with tools or a handheld vac for skirting boards, curtains, upholstery etc.
