Last night my friend and I - two relative novices in the radio domain - got a chance to try out a couple of Icom IC-F4029SDR radios operating on the digital PMR446 licence-exempt frequencies. Even though we live a very large city in a densely-populated part of the country, recent monitoring showed, as you might have expected, that these frequencies are devoid of traffic.
