NOT SO SIMPLE & STRAIGHTFORWARD

Made to sound so easy in our local post office, so we took 2 cards to Madeira( 6th-16th July) one each for my husband & myself. Both cards were Euro Mastercards, unfortunately not everywhere accepted them which was embarrassing to say the least. As we couldn't use them as we thought we have quite a lot of money left on them ( over 500 euro's on the one card alone). We had been told that we could go back onto our branch with the cards on return, but "oh no", we had to ring customer services for a buy back rate & wait for a letter to take to the branch & then we could "get our money back". Rang customer services today & they have quoted us a really low buy back rate, much lower than anywhere else. We will be losing well over 150 euro's & are stuck as we won't be travelling back to Europe again. Very disappointed. My advice, take cash & lock it in the safe. Leave the card @ home.
