I went into the post office to get Euros for my holiday to Greece. The guy recommended I take out a Post Office Pre Paid credit card as it was "free." I liked the idea of checking my balance and topping it up online while away.
I tried accessing my balance online using my ID & password. It didnt work.Eventually It locked me out & I had to call the postoffice to reset it. That didnt work either. In the end I could only use it for withdrawlas at the ATM as I was afraid to use it for meals as I wasnt able to check my balance.
When I returned to the UK I called the post office and the lady advised that they were having issues allowing clients to get access online. I downloaded their app and it didnt work either.
I asked for a refund of my €200 euro still on the card and they advised I would have to accept it in sterling at their exchange rate and it would take 14 days.
Made a complaint and got a letter to say they were not going to compensate me and that was the last correspondence they would enter with me. I will be complaining to the FSCS.
This card is not fit for purpose. Please do not use it and do not be taken in by the sales patter
