“couldn't get money out”

100 euros on card. son put it into ATM in france, denied funds, tried 2 other machines. I rang and it turns out that the first attempt was authorised and the 80 euros he tried to take out were "put aside" but not given, so when he went the next machines, there were "insufficient" funds in the account to take any out. 3 days later, "put aside" funds still not back into account. I have asked them to send me letter so I can get the money back out . . .
