I got mugged by 3 men in Ibiza, a friend was with me and she was badly injured. Scared and confused, I emailed virgin that night. I didn't get a reply for over a week which by then we'd sorted ourselves out. Virgin don't deal with claims they pass this to Travel Claims Direct, you're lucky if you can get threw on the phone, they don't reply to emails other than an auto response. 6weeks after putting in my claim they asked me for evidence from my bank my cards were stolen and whether or not I'd claimed on insurance before. I already ticked a box saying I hadn't, and never claimed for cards as they were not stolen. So much for reading my form. I complained to virgin who told me to detail everything and send an email to their complaints dept, I did, no one responded for a week. I called again, spoke to someone who didn't seem to care and said he'd look into it. He came back to that day saying they were missing information, so I forwarded the email with all the missing info I'd already sent a week prior and had an auto response saying that had it. Then the guy at virgin takes a week to respond and says he has my email. I know he has the email, I sent it. So my claim was submitted on 17th July, it's 15th sept still nothing. I only claimed fir a cheap camera about £200 in cash, an I touch and sunglasses. I've never had to claim insurance but friend have and I've never heard of anything so rubbish. Even the complaints dept don't help.
