Well, I had a claim on my travel policy!

Took out a multi-trip policy to cover wife and self whilst visiting our son in California. Unfortunately, I tripped over a faulty, non-retracted lawn sprinkler and ended up being taken to hospital in an ambulance. After CAT and MRI scans, the neurosurgeon decided I had cracked a vertebra in my neck; I was otherwise OK, so I was discharged after being fitted with a neck brace. We followed the rules and put in a phone call to the Claims line as soon as I was discharged; they were very helpful, even phoned back a couple of days later to ask how I was doing!! All the invoices, when they rolled in, were gathered together and sent with the (quite lengthy) claim form - totalled several thousand dollars! Copies of my medical notes had to be supplied (cost me £50 on top of the excess of £120) but the claim went through, everyone has been paid - I was even reimbursed the $90 I had spent on prescription drugs! So I have to say I'm perfectly happy with the insurance I bought and the way in which the claim was handled - we followed the procedure, and had a good outcome.
