“Disappointing”

Flight cancelled due to French strikes and no alternative flight from same operator within 3/4 days to rebook. Took a refund but over £200 out of pocket- not covered by my Emerald policy- admittedly I hadn't spotted this on the key documents in advance. Email response from cover for you confusing, and response to claim form request not clear. “ Avoid like the plague”

Dreadful customer service. Every letter needs chasing. Only seem to respond when chased. Look for every reason why claim should not be paid. After nearly 6 months of time wasting chasing am now taking the case to the financial ombudsman service. If you want to be insured whilst on holiday don't use this outfit!… Read Full Review

“No payment and abandoned by them in Spain. ”

Global response their claim company and Coverforyou insurance gave me no help when I was seriously ill abroad. They tried to force me out of a private hospital while I was on oxygen, steroid, antibiotic, nebulisers and saline drip. They never offered me oxygen to get me to a public hospital ony told me they were transferring me. Sent a Dr with voluntary discharge papers who was treating me to sign myself out of hospital. “Useless”

Had my phone stolen whilst in Brazil, obtained a police report withing two hours as Coverforyou requires. Then upon trying to claim it back I find their "general exclusions" include almost anything valuable worth stealing... Time and money wasted. Don't bother with them… Read Full Review

“Worst insurance company ever”

I have purchased travel insurance via CoverForYou in June and unfortunately I had to cancel my trip. CoverForYou changed the start date of my insurance policy so they do not have to pay me and make my cancellation claim irrelevant. You can't take them to ombudsman as they are a Bulgarian company and governed by afSA in Bulgaria. Their underwriters are Bulstrad Life Virna and you have to write to Bulgaria to challenge them and they know it

“Wouldn't pay out”

Me and three friends had our apartment in Ibiza broken into on the first night. So much was taken including electronics, clothes, toiletries, money and chargers. The insurance would not pay out for any 'valuables' which were not in the safe. However, the insurance company considered more or less everything a valuable- even the phone chargers & CDs. You can't challenge them through the ombudsman as they are not a British company . They are underwritten by Bulstrad Life Viena and are regulated by the FSA Bulgaris. They are taking the Mickey out of the British

“Heart attack . letter sent to COVERFORYOU”

I still have had NO reply form them. On the 4th of July at 11;30pm in a hotel room in turkey i was suffering unbearable chest pain. my husband called a doctor who said i was having a heart attack. and called for an ambulance. i was then taken by ambulance to the local hospital. they said i would have to go to the heart hospital an-hour away as it was more serious then they could deal with. i was then transferred at high speed to that hospital and there i was diagnosed with a massive heart… Read Full Review

Myself and friends were shocked to read your story. My story is above. You have to fight them through the financial service authority in Bulgaris as they sell products in Britain but are not accountable to the regulators here.m

I had an accident whilst on a family holiday in Malaga. I fractured my ankle and was admitted to hospital overnight. I also had to pay for prescriptions. “Auto Renew changed policy conditions. POOR CUSTOMER...”

Purchased original Multi Trip insurance in 2012, and declared medical conditions. Received auto-renew email, with same conditions last September and renewed policy. Wanted to print a copy of the documents and could not login to web site so phoned help desk to get access and check cover for Iceland, Luckily I asked to make sure the medical notes were on the policy, as I was told it had been renewed without there conditions. “Poor customer service”

I had taken out a policy months before my holiday, unexpectedly I was diagnosed with a routine medical condition 4 weeks before my holiday. I called to advise cover for you of this and they advised me to put the details of my condition in writing. I did this, waited a week and called again as they had not acknowledged my email, I then got cut off and had to call again. Everything seems good, until you have to make a claim, and then they do not even follow there policy wording. We lost over £1000 of jewelry in a burglary, the policy wording say's coner of £1250, they paid us £200 because they said it was limited to £200 a person.. We are currently having a fight wioth them through the FSA. I beg you not to use them use a more reputable compkany. I had to give them 1 start and that is one star too many… Read Full Review

We had Ruby Single Trip cover for our hokiday to Greece this summer and thank goodness we did! I fell ill and was admitted to hospital the day we were due to fly so unfortunately we never made our holiday.
