I have noticed that trivago doesn't exaggerate with ratings and reviews about hotels. I like that they don't promote specific hotels when it comes to one city or country. All hotels are fairly rated and recommended and it will show most popular or best priced hotels, the ones that fits my budget and my needs.
I think the website is pretty easy to navigate, clear and simple way to search for hotels.
I guess the best experience was when I had to go to Brussels and trivago showed this good offer from 2stars hotel just a few mins from the main square. I wasn't sure about this since it was 2stars only but the photos and ratings looked satisfying. So I gave it a go and didn't regret. It was a pretty cool small hotel (opposite to Sheraton) with very nice and friendly people in the reception. No disappointment for trusting trivago and choosing this hotel!
