We booked a break directly through tripadvisor (at 'the old end' in sheldon, near bakewell, derbyshire).
The place wasn't anything like advertised, and the owner wasn't interested.
I phoned tripadvisor (nightmare), and to cut an 8.5 hour long story short, I was promised a 65% refund in 5 days if my family vacated the property immediately.
With no other option, we packed up and left.
The next morning, we had a couple of emails saying that we're not getting any money at all.
I should actually be there right now, but I'm sat here typing this, knowing my holiday money has been stolen, and there's not a damn thing I can do.
Also, the tripadvisor site keeps either rwjecting, or 'losing' my reciews of the place.
We usually use booking.com, which is great... I really don't know what possessed me to get involved with these idiots!
