The Bake One, Gosforth High Stree, NE3 1HHQ

I visited the Bake One on Gosforth High Street, Newcastle upon Tyne for the 2nd time last night with a group of friends. If you want an amazing culinary experience, with a friendly buzzing atmosphere coupled with the most delicious selection of Lebanese food, this restaurant is a must! We sampled 7 varieties of hot Mezza and the tastes together with their speciality bread is the start of an evening of delights! For main courses we had grilled shish kebab, grilled chicken kebab and one person had the King Bake Mixed Grill. His eyes were a picture as his overflowing plate was pute in front of him! Kebabs of all descriptions, chicken wings, shawarma chicken and lamb, chicken cubes and chicken Koftah-this course alone was enough for the 5 of us! No worries-what you don't eat, they very kindly parcel up for you in a 'doggy bag' and the next day's dinner is taken care of. The staff are amazing-helpful, friendly and often check to see if all is ok and replenish supplies of bread and dips. You take your own wine etc which cuts costs making the final bill a mere £20 per head! How good was it? Well I looked around several times and guess what? No one was using a mobile phone. They were too enveloped in the atmosphere, their mutual culinary experience and just enjoying one another's company. Bliss both for customers and overworked mobiles!! Do I recommend it? This goes without any question.Our taste buds felt as if they's been woken up after a long sleep-try it for yourself.
