I was thinking and rethinking if to post something or not, but I think it is necessary. This is about the UK branch of Opodo's website, www.opodo.co.uk, and is referred to hereafter. Whilst normally booking directly via the airline websites I got it wrong this time with the supposed official China Eastern Airline website www.flychinaeastern.com, which is actually handled by www.opodo.co.uk; the official one being www.ceair.com.
After contacting Opodo's call-centre on different occasions about solving a flight cancellation, the treatment by certain staff was a disaster. Long waiting times on the phone for easy tasks like checking one's booking or when writing a confirmation email of 2 lines of text, not to mention incompetence and blank ignorance. After several encounters with call-centres, this by far was the worst that ever appeared. Delaying tactics like appeasing, a la \"manager will take care of that later ... is now in a meeting, will call you back (in 1001 nights)\", are insulting customer's intelligence.
However the problem got solved in the end by one shining star and therefore am relieved, but will avoid Opodo in the future like the plague.
