“Do not book”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Boltonxj43 on 11/04/2024

Please do not book a holiday with loveholidays. I made a booking for 2 rooms at the Ixian Grand, Rhodes. This trip was in excess of £4,000. The room description was ‘deluxe double or twin room with balcony/terrace and garden view’. After booking, I contacted the hotel to ask for 1x double room and 1x twin room. The hotel informed me that no room at the hotel had the ability to be a twin and referred me back to loveholiday to make a complaint. I initially spoke to a representative on the chat tool who was incredibly dismissive and terminated the chat while I was still asking for support (along with multiple other issues I could complain about). I opened a chat with a new representative who ultimately explained that this is the fault of the hotels, and they were unable to provide any help to rectify this error. After a lot of back and forth, I asked how I should make a more formal complaint, to which I was told they do not have a complaints team. Go to the hotel directly to be sure of what you are paying for.

“Great customer service until you book”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tanya56 on 31/03/2024

This company are really good at taking your initial booking and money and that's where the customer service ends. They have rescheduled our flights without telling us after we had confirmed a reschedule. They took it upon themselves to give us flights with an overnight layover in hong Kong when we have children. (This is not what we paid for!) After we sent a message saying we would book the extra night we needed at the hotel this message was clear that it was about the hotel not the flights especially as we had already booked the flights. When we spoke to representatives they wanted to charge us £800 to rebook the flight that they cancelled without our say so. Was told a manager would call back within 72hrs we asked for this in writing we have received neither. I have spent over 3 and half hours on the phone to them and got no where. Will now have to legal advice as we can't afford to cancel and lose our hard earned cash. My advice would be to spend that little extra in the first place as you'll end up spending more with love holidays anyway!!

“Love holidays changed flights and price by 400 pounds ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Marielal366 on 03/02/2024

Do not use love holidays I booked my holiday over the phone on saturday 27th January . I was told to wait 72 hours for confirmation of booking I got an email for the flights on Monday and my flights had been changed to 2 planes instead of direct to destination and the price was changed by almost 400 pounds more .i called the customer services instantly and they hung up on me but I got a call back from the sales lady jiselie who I booked the holiday with over the phone . She said that there was an issue with the flights so instead of flying direct from Gatwick to larnaca it would be stopping at Athens and I will be going on 2 planes . I was not happy this was done with out notification no call no email nothing and told her to cancel my holiday as I’m still in the 14 day calling off period and not to charge cancellation fee as this it there fault . She agreed with me and apologised and said if I can sort your flight out and speak to a manager would that be ok . I said yes that’s fine and she agreed to call me back . It’s now Friday I’ve had no call back I have called them every day this week and get told the same information it has been escalated. I told them that I wanted to cancel my holiday before it was confirmed in email on Wednesday because at this time it was still showing as in pending status .They still put it through . I’m still waiting for a call back my guess was that they are trying to use up the 14 day calling of period at this point so they can lock me into contract. all I want is my money back or the matter to be fixed and fair .i was informed today that there is no 14 day calling off period and I have been told again this has been escalated .i had to call them again this even because no call back and the lady i spoke to told me I should of had a call back and I should of been notified before any changes to flights and price and it was wrong of them I was apologised to for what has happened . I am waiting for a response to see how they will deal with this it has been escalated again and will have to see what happens .i have been on citizen advice and it states that I’m entitled to cancel my holiday without any fee if the price goes up after I’ve booked and the seller Increases it more then 8% of the full amount which it has done and the company should pay any money I’m owed with in 14 days of cancellation. I have to wait to see how they respond.

“Hidden charges / miss information / shady sales tactics ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Mhussain20232323 on 20/01/2024

Its unfortunate I have had very poor communication with your company and I am trying to get my issues resolved. I have a serious complaint that needs resolved. On the 17th Jan I booked a holiday, I was informed by her , she/LH will pay for my private transfers and room upgrade and we requested information if I was to change my booking i.e hotel etc she informed me I would just need to go on to the portal manage my booking and I would be able to instantly change my holiday as I previously experienced on the portal for my last holiday with LH, at this point I was satisfied. Following in the evening my wife said the hotel wouldn't be suitable for a young baby , so I followed the process detailed, to our shocking surprise on the portal It would not automatically update the hotel with live prices, in fact it would take 5 days for an admin team to respond back to us, within the 5 days the hotel prices will change and this would be a known issue, had she been clear on the information for amendments I would not have booked. I even went on to live chat and it also says that they system will automatically offer prices, which it doesn't. Please see screen shots. I was also told my confirmation would be sent 15-20min after paying this was not the case around 4pm , i had to email around 8pm to remind her to send my documents. On the 18th Jan, I called LH to express my displeasure on receiving the wrong information however if they were able to help me with changing my hotel, i would be happy. I called 2x and both times the agent put the phone down on me, my 3rd call was answered, after a lengthy back and fourth strongly suggesting no one can help me except the amendments, he was able to get a manager to agree to change my hotel. the prices quoted was around £500 per person more, which is a lot more than the live price online, he suggested LF are charging £1500 more for the amendment however I told on the portal it states £25 for the amendment, he then agreed and said these are the live prices now, i told him to check again as online it was far cheaper see screen shot, the prices on the 18th Was cheaper than the price on the 17th night. I flet like my back was against the wall here, my wife wants a different hotel and suddenly the new hotel we want went up in price by £500 near per person however no other holiday on the LH website for Turkey went up this amount only my chosen hotel when i requested to change very fishy. Seems like the price was increased for my family. During this call she also emailed the prices was around £1500 more, this also contradicts him saying no one can change the booking apart from the A team, but Robyn can if if pay £1500 more. So anyway I chose another hotel. After he had arranged this, I asked him to check, why i am paying for transfers this was free from her, he said it was not, I asked if my room upgrade was free , he said no room upgrade is fee, then i asked why my flghts says 3x paid baggage when i only wanted 2, he said 3 has been added and 3 paid for. After the mist of all this head and miss information from the first contact on the 17th , i told him I want to complain and need a contact , he was unbale to assist... at this time i have to work myself. I called again on the 18th to express to your gent, (I did not get her name) went through the whole process and told her i want to cancel for the following reasons. 1)She discussed changes and amendments, and you informed me all I would have to do is go on to the app and change e.g hotel and i could be done on the day as I experienced this the year before on the app, I found out today it can take 5 working days as it a manual process from customer services. 2) She said you would include transfers and you / LH cover the cost, this was not the case and was confirmed by customer service. 3) She would add a sea view room at no additional cost, however, there is a cost for a sea view room that has cost in the total amount which is not itemized on the confirmation and you / LH said you with add that in for free. 4) Robyn said the confirmation would take 10-15 minutes after the call, however, i had to email you in the evening to send this across. 5) I requested baggage for 2 bags, you added 3 and this cost me extra for something I do not want. This in a short period of time has caused much head and hidden cost , miss information , miss representation, I want a full refund with no cancellation charges due the extremely poor service. We totally uncomfortable to go on holiday via and untrust worthy company. This call was not received warmly , infact it was quite rude and unhelpful and she made a manual request to the amendments team for the cancellation, she also logged a call for a manager to call me back and said it would take 72 hours also with a response from the admin team r.e my cancellation. So i am expecting a call and response to my cancellation on the 20th January. I also emailed a formal complaint to pass on to her manager and confirm this has been passed on, i did not get a response. 19th I emailed again to confirm if she had passed my complaint on and CCed, still no response. 20th i called LH, i again explained everything, she said I should get a response today and can see my messages and requested on the portal and the person I spoke to the 18th did log a call for a manger to call me however when she checked the work schedule she said the manager is off until Monday, therefore the person who logged the call logged it inaccurately or knowing no one was going to call me back in 72 hours to resolve my issues. This is absolutely shocking i am going to these lengths to fix my issue. I want confirmation my holiday is fully cancelled with no charges to me at the very least, this tactic she did by suggesting add-on upgrade are free and the change process is instant to secure as sale is appalling also the aftercare is very poor once the money has been taken. Misleading, mis information and hidden charges additional charges that was not request, these are concerns for any family with young children. I have had to try and find management people in LH to email his to get some response urgently. I have also seen online and on twitter that many other customer have had the same issues and worse.

“Made a booking last sunday for Feb Half-term, with all...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/01/2024

Made a booking last sunday for Feb Half-term, with all the extras. Had to pay full price upfront to secure the deal. Got an email saying they need 72hrs to confirm things, never heard from them. When we called, they said they cant get the flights for which we paid for & have to pay £250.00 extra each or wait & hope. Asked to speak to the manager, got promised a call back same day before 5pm, but never heard from anyone. Called again next day, got told very rudely, we are not Robots, manager will call when possible, again no call back. Spoke to about 7 different people across 4 days without getting through to any senior person, getting a call back or any emails regarding the booking. Eventually gave up & cancelled our holiday, now waiting for a refund. Meanwhile prices for other options we originally had, have gone up so much that looks like we are priced-out now :( Never using or recommending loveholidays.com to anyone ever!! Date of experience: 14 January 2024

“Paid deposit to secure booking but was not secured ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AliZimmerman on 15/01/2024

So i had found a holiday deal on their website where it said i can secure the booking by paying the deposit of £59 per person. So i had paid this deposit per person to secure the price i had found for this holiday, however once i had paid the deposit the money was taken out of my account and i had received an email saying that the order is pending. few hours later i get another email saying that they could not confirm the booking as the price of the flight has now changed and that i have to pay £80 extra for this. So basically i was mislead by the information on their website as it stated that the price can be SECURED with the deposit but even after paying the deposit my price was not secure and i was then told i need to pay extra in order to secure my booking. I had called love holidays and spoke to a customer support agent who then informed me that they are facing issues with the flight team, so because of their internal issues, me as a customer is now having to suffer for their incapability of running a business smoothly and i am having to face the charges for this. This is really frustrating as the whole point of paying the deposit which i had done was to secure the booking price on their website. This information is clearly misleading as they just want to take your money and then charge you extra once you have paid the deposit which is what

Due to me being primary carer this was my the first family holiday in five years. Due to issues with air traffic control and then technical issues with the flight my family and I were delayed for three days. I contacted Love Holidays office to assist with the booked transfer company and they didn't want to know. They kept citing we are only the booking agent. I asked them whether they could inform the hotel that we were going to be late and guess what they were only broker couldn't help me. I contacted them to make a claim but yes you've got it you ignored my letters and claim. AVOID AVOID AVOID!Love Holidays is an absolute disgrace. I will never never use their company again. They are shambolic. Shame on them

“Sham Artists! Be aware! Knowingly miss selling holiday...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lianao276 on 22/10/2023

Purchased a holiday package, stating that the hotel will have air conditioning, Spa/fitness facility, bar... but when we arrived we realized that not only that's not the case now, hotel has never had such facilities. Got in touch with customer services and explained the situation, to my surprise they did not believe me and asked me to check and see if air conditioning units are under maintenance... After wasting two days of my holiday chasing Loveholidays customer services, hours on the phone, online chat and sleeping in a room with a fan when temperature outside was 31 degrees, they asked me to get the hotel to send them an email and verify that they do not have these facilities. I did that and took photos of the room and hotel facilities and send it to them just to be offered a £50 compensation as the best that they can do. I was told that if I do not wish to accept the offer, there is nothing else they are willing to do and I can make a claim after I arrived home, If I decided to go down that path, they don't guarantee that I would be offered anything at all. After arriving home, going forwards and backward for a month with their team they decided the issue me a refund of £70 to my account without my agreement and told me not to call them regarding this matter again as this matter has been closed on their end and further correspondence essentially will be ignored, whilst they were still selling package holidays to the same hotel advertising the same facilities, even though they new that was not through. Only after I got in touch with ASA, they decided to change the advert. Shame on you Loveholidays. I will never use them again and certainly won't recommend them to anyone else unless you don't mind nasty surprises and holiday packages from hell.

“WORST SITE EVER ”

written by Webb1952 on 15/08/2023

If I could give this website 0 stars I would! Three days before our holiday they cancelled our hotel so we had to pay a further €271 on top of €571.55 that we had already payed for a new hotel. Our flight to Albufeira was at 5:15 we landed at half 8 in the evening, by the time we went through passport control and got a taxi to our hotel it was 10pm when we landed at our hotel we were told last check in was at 8pm which was never specified on our booking! The hotel cancelled our room and we had to pay a little over €1000 for a new hotel for the 5 nights! Our hotel that we previously booked told us to contact love holidays for a refund, I tried ringing the emergency contact for love holidays that night and they would not answer, the next morning I rang again and the told me they could not issue me a refund when they knew what time our fight was at as they booked it, they knew we would have never had made it to out hotel in time and they failed to mention that last book in was 8pm I have all the emails from them and they still said it was not their problem, I told them I was taken legal action in this and which they responded by hanging up the phone and blocking my number. I went online after and read reviews on how this has happened to a number of people. I will never book a holiday with them again! We were lucky that we had the money to get a new hotel but what if we hadn’t? We were on the streets outside the hotel for a good 40 minutes late at night before our taxi arrived to bring us to a new hotel, I will be taking this further and hope to get a refund! Please don’t book any hotel with love holidays they are a sham we should have realised this when they cancelled our first hotel and looked for more money off us.

“AWFUL Experience with LOVE HOLIDAYS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by nmohacs on 10/08/2023

AWFUL Experience with LOVE HOLIDAYS We are having a truly terrible experience with Love Holidays. We are staying at Club Resort Atlantis in Turkey. The resort is not 5 star as advertised. It is old and dirty, the pools are small, there are not sufficient sun-loungers, the hotel is overrun with feral cats particularly in the restaurants and food is poor. The electricity in our room goes off several times during the day and night. There is an open fuse box in our room which sparks when you have to click the switch to get the electricity to come back on. Our toilet is broken and the water has been switched off. Despite booking a twin room for our teenage children (16 and 13), we were allocated a double room and our 13 year old son is therefore sleeping on the sofa. Despite writing to Love Holidays on the first day of our holiday and phoning each day since, Love Holidays have not responded to us to address our concerns. We only go on one holiday a year and are very upset and disappointed. We will be seeking a refund from Love Holidays when we return to the UK.

“The transfer driver couldn't find his own car !”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Terry458 on 02/08/2023

We booked a return transfer from Malta airport to Valletta with loveholidays.com . We were met by a guy who took us to a 30yr old car that was filthy and incredibly wouldn't start , after 20 minutes he got it going , but it stunk from overheating ,he couldn't find the Hotel and dumped us 500 metres downhill from our hotel with cases/bags , if that was bad the return defied belief . The same driver met us at The Embassy Hotel ( which was superb )told us he was parked to the left , then the right then another part of Valletta , after 45 minutes in 30 degree heat carrying our cases/bags he couldn't FIND his own car , insane . Luckily the concierge Yilmaz ( a diamond )found us a cab within a minute . Loveholidays have been awful and will not give us a fair refund so I can only assume they condone unsafe , filthy transfers driven by people who can barely drive if they manage to find their own car . A truly terrible level of customer care that is not about opinion , they agree this happened ,if you pay for a transfer that is terrible and then non-existent you surely would expect a reputable company to hold their hand up , but oh no , dreadful .

My 19 year old daughter booked 2 holidays with Love holidays but cancelled one of them, they then proceeded to take both amounts out of her accounts. The poor girl is left with not one cent in her account because of them, she is miles away from me and is so upset but they will not discuss with me her parent. Even though it was clearly evident that we needed help. This is the second time I have have trouble with them. They never refunded us for our transfer that never showed up. They are the absolute worst of the worst company and if they do not give my daughter a refund I will be taking legal action.

“Online booking error cost me an extra £300.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Gleason438 on 12/05/2023

Online booking error cost me an extra £300. An error occurred with Loveholidays 'mybooking' system. My wife and I booked HB at The Navarria Hotel, Cyprus, which some how was altered to B&B when I checked the itinerary prior to going on holiday. The only alteration I amended was the hotel transfer as we had a rental car. I received an email with a £30 refund, which I thought was a generous offer for cancelling the hotel transfer. I contacted an online agent who pointed out the alteration and this is when the agent informed me of the reason for the refund, I explained that I had no idea how the change had occurred and could the hotel booking be changèd back to the original HB. This was going to cost me an extra £200 for the alteration. How does an alteration from HB to B&B produce a refund of £30, yet to revert back it incurs a penalty of £200. Nice little earner for the hotel, yet it cost my wife and I an extra £300 on top of the holiday cost, due to having to eat out every night. On top of that, my wife is disabled, which is the reason we opted for HB in the first place. Most definitely will not be using Loveholidays again in the near future

We were sold "an upgrade" and paid for it too thinking the room will be much better. It's not been 24 hours since we paid our deposit and now being told the room only comes with 1 double bed for 4 of us. Kids have to use sofa bed..I paid 4k for my kids to sleep on the sofa? You cant call them after you've paid your deposit. Live chat says they are a third party agency so can only request 2 beds to be put in the room but no guarantee..wtf..we are already not looking forward to this ..absolutely shocking service..I would never recommend this company to anyone..stay away, save your hard earned money..why did they not mention the beds when selling the upgrade? Now they say they cant do anything? Absolute clowns running a circus..go elsewhere people the service is appaling

“NO CUSTOMER SERVICE STILL OWE ME MONEY”

written by peterknowles69 on 09/02/2023

Booked a holiday back in october for late Jan departure to Turkey, in December the flights were cancelled, So we asked to rearrange a new trip to Lanzarote which we did although there would be an extra cost, (no problem). 5 days before we were due to depart I received an cancellation invoice (very strange), i checked the Loveholidays app and the final payment had been made but the trip was showing as cancelled. I then sat in a web chat queue for hour's to be told someone would bet back to me. next day no ctc so did the same, to be told the same. i sent emails, no reply, tried facebook again no reply, i eventually managed to get a number for credit control who told me there was an outstanding amount to pay but couldn't explain why the payment wasn't taken, (they had all my details and funds were available. They also said if i ctc customer service they could reinstate the trip If i pay the remainder. Again hours in webchat to be told they couldn't reinstate, i would have to rebook. I decided to rebook with another company and had a great holiday, but here I am again waiting in a webchat for answers i.e. where is my refund of just under 2000 pounds, threek weeks and no sign. BE VERY WARY OF USING THIS COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT .

I'd write to them and confirm the transfers. i'd obtain the number to the office of the company that will handle the transfer at the destination (or local contact office) and call them to make sure they have knowledge of it. I'd also check if Love Holidays is registered with a regulatory body and I'd make sure I have all the communication in writing so an official complaint can be made in case something doesn't work out. When I landed in Croatia I have called the local contact to ask about transfers and they have informed me that no such transfer has been scheduled. Me having a voucher for transfer meant nothing and I ended up renting a car. Love Holidays never came back to me since their reply to my review on this page.

The transfer is really easy just go to the names desk at your arrival airport, show them your paperwork, and they will point you in the right direction, returning is even easier you will be sent a reminder email 2 days before your departure which you follow the link which then tells the company that you deffinately need the return then you'll be given your pick up time. Hope this helps

I have booked with Love Holidays before and had absolutely no problems with anything, the transfer voucher they email you has all the contact details on who you are transferring with and they are very detailed about where to find your transfer.

My wife and our small toddler went to Mallorca and booked a group transfer. Reasonable price, but as expected, it went around to other hotels before ours. Ours was last on the route and in total, I think the transfer was a little over an hour, with a taxi probably taking around 30 minutes. Transfers themselves were fine. On the way to the hotel, there was a little mis-understanding with the local transfer agent. Initially they didn't know who love holidays were and suggested they didn't know about our booking, but after showing them the print out, they found our bus within a few minutes. Transfers on the way back turned up promptly, no fuss. As with everything, you've got to have the right expectations, if you do, I think you'll be fine. Just remember to have a print out and note where you need to report to when arriving at the airport. If we were doing this again, I think we'd probably book a private taxi if it's not too much more expensive. Hope this helps!

I booked using them last year and had a very good experience. I would certainly not hesitate to use them again in the future

Have used them several times for Egypt and had no problems, all the transfer information was sent with hotel and flight information by E-Mail, transfer bus was waiting for us and collection from our hotel without problem, found Love Holidays to be very helpful and never had a problem Even when we booked for Sharm and all the flights got stopped they had a full refund ready for us without any problems within the week, would recommend them and the service they give.

We had transfers to and from the airport in Majorca. It was a long transfer and there were no problems either way. The taxi and the driver were easy to locate and the transfers were pleasant.

I booked an 'express' transfer and it was terrible. Fee was marked up compared to local prices and spent our last night trying to find out what time was getting picked up as nobody bothered letting us or the resort know. I'd avoid.

You can ask the receptionist at the hotel you are staying at to print out your boarding passes for you. If this is not possible there are usually internet cafes around. Ryanair charge about £12.00 to let you check in for your return flight before you travel which allows you to print out your return flight boarding passes.

Just ask. Some hotels will do it for you free of charge and we have also had it done for us on board river cruises.

We have had a couple of all inclusive holidays through Loveholidays and the Thomas Cook rep said it was only necessary to turn up at the return airport with your holiday reference number at the check in desk. That's been our experience with no problems. It might be worth phoning a local travel agent to ask that question as it may vary with the airlines, however it seems many foreign airports don't use electronic pre ordering of boarding passes, so the problem doesn't arise. I would recommend that you double check with Loveholidays on their FAQ's on their website if you can't get through on the telephone. You certainly don't want to be worrying about it on holiday! Please also note the previous answer as it appears to be different if you book directly with the airline.

Hi, you will need to check in online and get the hotel to print them for you. Pain I know! Regards Caz

If you are travelling for less than a month you should be able to print them before you leave home. If traveling for longer try an internet café or hotel reception as already suggested. Last year returning from Morocco the airport just issued a boarding pass in return for my booking confirmation. They weren't interested in the one I'd printed in advance! Depends on airline but some will send an electronic boarding pass to your mobile phone/tablet if you install their app, but if so check that departure airport accepts electronic boarding passes.

As with the other responses - ask a friendly hotel receptionist - they will do this for you. BTW - Loveholidays.com are the worst travel company I have ever used - they messed up on two holidays I've taken with them in the past 12 months... there are far better companies out there....

I have used Loveholidays.com twice in the past 9 months - each time, lots of problems & awful customer service (they re-sold our holiday & we had to pay £350 extra just days before we flew otherwise they just offered a refund (we had booked car hire, airport parking, booked time off work etc. so they had us over a barrel). Avoid this company...

Go to any bar or cafe that has free wifi ask them for the pass word and download your return passes on your mobiles. The hotel should be able to do this for you as well. Just obtain the travel firm app it's free befor you go.

In addition to what others have written, are you not able to print off your boarding passes for both the outbound *and* return journeys before you go? I suppose, though, it depends on the airline and whether you have booked designated seats. I've flown with both Thomas Cook Airlines and Jet2 in my last two trips with loveholidays, and both times I could print off the return boarding passes before I left the UK. Most holiday companies must surely realise that you're not going to have easy access to a printer when you're abroad, so I'm really surprised if anywhere still expects you to do that.

Most flights are electronic now. Check in online for your outbound and inbound flight at the same time. Save the paperwork

My partner and I have a holiday booked to Tunisia in September. Obviously because of the travel advice given we won't be able to go. We have only paid the deposit and we're going to pay the rest next week. Will we still get a full refund for our deposit?

Yes! They are fine until they have your money then you will get no joy from them. They will answer the phone if you press 2 for a new booking and then will put you through to someone else but all you will get is horrible music. Wouldnt use them again!

How on earth do you get to speak to customer service? It appears to be non existent. Very stressed that I can have no contact with anyone, how to ruin the excitement of a holiday. Can anyone help me locate their contact details?

Compared to the other answer, I have to say I've used Loveholidays.com for my holidays in both 2015 and this year, and I had no problems with them at all. I also had to phone them recently to make an enquiry and got through to them after only a short wait. I liked that I was able to go into their website and check out my booking whenever I was feeling excited about my holiday, and I could check payments, when they were due etc. I could also go in and print off the paperwork (hotel voucher, transfer voucher etc.) any time I wanted. Like all things, some people have good experience, others have bad. Most importantly, they are ABTA and ATOL backed, so if the worst should ever happen, the customer is protected. As an ex-travel agent, this is the first thing I check out before booking my holidays!
