End up sleeping on the street with Wimdu

I booked an apartment in Paris, and communicated with the host on the arrangements for check in. Eight hours before I was flying from Canada to Paris, the host emailed that she was not renting the apartment, because her planned trip was cancelled. Contact to Wimdu resulted in no responses, because it does not have 24-hour support. When I followed up and asked for compensation in addition to a full refund, Wimdu denied any responsibility and quote the following 'fine prints'

"13.1 - Terms & Conditions: Wimdu is not liable for the behavior of users. In particular, Wimdu shall not be liable for the fulfilling of obligations under the rental contracts concluded between the users, and therefore not for the contractual service provisions in these contracts and/or lease of a responsible party for damages of any kind. "

SO THINK ABOUT IT. THE HOST CAN LITERALLY CANCEL THE RENTAL WHEN YOU SHOW UP AT THE DOOR. DON'T USE WIMDU IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RISK SLEEPING ON THE STREET.
