Our family booked Virgin to take us to Orlando in August 11 - a fly/drive holiday of a lifetime, based on a villa rental.
Won't go into all of the issues (there were several which stated before we travelled with the erroneous booking of our villa in the Florida Keys (according to the customer service rep in India this is within the Orlando area and within easy driving distance of the attractions there? - don't think so). As a follow up . . . . having lodged a formal complaint with Virgin Holidays when we returned to the UK, they refused any from of compensation for the inconvenience we suffered or reimbursement of my daughter's not inconsiderable mobile 'phone costs in constantly having to chase up their rep on the patch in the States (if the young lady in question had worked for me she would have been out).
One books through a package holiday company for convenience and to avoid all of the organisational headaches when planning a family holiday abroad? For us, not a single aspect of their organisation on our behalf was without problem, and frankly I now wish we'd taken care of all of the arrangements ourselves.
Certainly won't be using them again.
