Western Discovery Tour.
The sights visited were amazing - every day was different and the excursions were the icing on the cake!
The first day to San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente to San Diego was good but a bit too rushed. Day 2 to Palm Springs was very rushed but Fort McDowell was in a great setting. Arriving at the Grand canyon the next day, it was difficult to comprehend the vast size of the canyon, but it was a fantastic view. The helicopter flight wasn't available as the wind was too strong - however the triangle flight over the Grand canyon to Monument valley and then on to Page over Lake Powell was awesome and more than made up for it. I didn't think it could get much better but the views at Bryce canyon were out of this world. Vegas was interesting and a total culture shock - don't think I'll bother going back! it's not really my thing. Arriving at Mammoth with snow still on the ground - wow! again some fantastic views over the valleys.Yosemite didn't disappoint and then on to San Francisco and a day to explore this varied city - Fisherman's wharf, chinatown, telegraph hill and loads more - could have done with an extra day here! Carmel and Monterey were ok but again too rushed and the last tour day going through LA (apart from the stop at Hollywood) could have been cut.
Finished the tour with the last morning at Manhattan beach - so relaxing and a great way to end a fantastic (if exhausting) holiday.
