Booked an apt in NYC and 1 1/2 weeks out we get an email saying the person decided not to rent to us and were presented with two other options. I asked them to call me three times but they would not. We had to take one of the other properties offered via email but it is not in a location as convenient. I just called the new person we will be renting from and he promised he would not give us the shaft. I will repost after the trip and let everyone know. We have rented a bunch of houses all over the country and this is the first time something has gone wrong. I will never use this company again.

DO NOT USE TRAVEL FURNISH UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! We reserved a property 3 months before the trip, and gave them half the rent for the week - they cashed a $1,400 check then called me 4 days before the trip and told me the property was no longer available, it was given to someone else. When they couldn't find a place even close to as nice, or in the same general location, I asked for my money back. After over a month of trying to contact and them get the money back that they took from me, they finally sent a check, but decided to keep a hefty booking fee... EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER ACTUALLY HAD ANYTHING BOOKED FOR US! They stole money from us, caused a ton of stress, and were quite rude. I've never had a worse experience with a company. PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW, this company should be put out of business.

I CALLED SO MANY TIMES AND SPENT MY WEEK IN NYC TRYING TO TALK TO THOSE PEOPLE AND NO ONE ANSWER MY CALLS

They did the same thing to me. I had reserved an apartment in nyc. A week before they tried to pull a bait and switch with the apartment. Their office is a virtual office. They are not really there. They finally returned my money minus $150 when i threatened to get the state attorneys office involved. Which i am still doing anyways. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I traveled six months pregnant with an one year old baby and my husband. The agency (travelfurnish) made important promises about our stay but not fulfilled them. Before receiving the money, they were very helpful but after being paid they just turned their back to us. Dave proved to be a true coward who takes advantage of the situation. Not paid the huge losses they caused us, was extremely rude and dishonest with us. Moreover, it is an agency that books other agencies, making overpriced apartments. If you want to stay at the Flamingo contact directly gogoflamingo. They are honest and hired by travelfurnish, but they do what they agree. I left Miami in tears by the terrible experience that travelfurnish gave to us. Don't do business with them!!!!!!

For our family vacation this year (summer 2012), my wife and I reserved a condo in the area of Aventura (FL) through Travelfurnish.com. At first, everything seemed well. We had a nice beachfront appartment that suited our budget. They asked us to wire the money. We did not see any reason not to and we did. We felt safe: our condo was reserved for us. A couple of weeks before our scheduled arrival, we received an email informing us that the condo we had reserved was no longer available! However, «Dov» was offering us some alternative condos and we chose the one we felt was par to the one we previously reserved. Just a little bump on the road we thought. But a week later, this second one was no longer available either and we were offered alternative condos that were definitely less attractive than the previous two (for the same money). We were told that this was all they had «for our budget». I personnaly spoke to Dov and he promised to fix this. But he came back with unacceptable condos (even if I reluctantly agreed to pay more). At that point we decided to reserve through other sources and we asked for our money back. We were due to leave in a matter of days and that was a big chunck of our holiday money. I had to call numerous times. I even went to there advertized address to meet face to face: it turned out to be the post office. In the end, we were able to collect our money, but not before I was insulted by «Dov» who called me, among other things, an @ssh@le and a jerk. Our family holiday was tainted by their unprofessional attitude. I would not recommend to use their services to anyone I care about. Be warned.

We booked through this so called company, Travelfurnish, for a house rental in Miami Beach FL This was the sketchiest home rental we have ever encountered. Booked a month in advance for one house and got a call not even a week before we were to arrive that they couldn't rent this house. Offered us three other options. We wanted a pool so chose the one option that had a pool and the pictures looked pretty good. Well the pictures must be about 20 years old. The outside area with the pool was great and we were right on the bay but the house, called Villa Viscuso, was a dump and the owner was invasive and kept turning off lights and air conditioning when we were not in the rooms. The place leaked when it rained and was not even clean. THEN he wanted to charge us more because we had "extra people", even though the number of people staying had been the same all along! Another group that booked same time as us also got their place cancelled and their only choice was to accept a one room place for 5 of them! Both of us had already given a deposit and part of the rent and time was so close to arrival we had no choice but to go with it. We question whether our original choices were ever an option or ever existed??? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO RENT FROM. do more research.

What a DISASTER.. I booke 3 months before my vecation date with TravelFurnish.com about 3 weeks before my vecatin TravelFurnish.com called me and told me the property was no longer available.. He sent me pictures of two properties that were the same rate.. The pictures looked great of the property untill i showed up there on June 1, 2012 the house was in bad shape several leaks water seaping through the walls and cealings, plenty of unfinished areas the house was very dirty and it smelled like mold, several windows did not (close) and several doors did not open, the inground pool outside had no filter the water was foggy on the bottom (because no filter) and there was holes in the bottom of the pool that the (salt) water in the pool made bcause the pool was not made for salt water, I just could not get in that pool i knew if i got in i would cut my foot on 1 of the 5 holes that were on the bottom.... After driving for 18 hours and beeing at the "villa" 1132 ne 84th Miami FL for only 1 hour. / on TravelFurnish.com this "villa" is called "Al Capone" After 1 hour passed i called Travelfurnish and the owner of the "villa" they gave me an appartment on collins avenue in the Alexander i had to go to sleep i was up for many hours, after spending the nite in the Alexander suite 802 i woke up in the morning and i asked myself why are Travelfurnish doing this to me and my family.. The appartment had unfinished surfaces everywhere, every closet was full of old furiture you could not fit anything in them there was two tvs one in front of the other the big one was old and didnt work it was 60inches and a small one in front of it about 28 inches that worked .. LOL.. I think they were going for the 3D look. There was mold in the Alexander appartmen as well.. I have pictures to prove everything i have said.! Travelfurnish and the owner of the "Al Capone" dont want to return my money it has allmost been 3 weeks, they have turned my vecation into a nightmare.. I Called Travelfurnish the next morning on saturday and i told him i can not stay in this appartment i did not pay $3000 a week for house or appartment that is in less the poor shape im sorry i cant sleep in a room where there is MOLD! or anywere close to it... I left the appartment after one night in miami.. I drove to daytona bech with my parants that are 65 years old and my girlfriend and my little dog.. I came to a Holiday Inn, the place was like a dream compared to the best place TravelFurnish.com has to offer, i didnt eaven have to make a reservation i got a suite for $99 per day (wow) and the hotel was soo clean the people were sooo nice the pool had no holes on the bottom it was so beautifull. The manager that checked us in Carrie was a sweatheart and very perfessional... Perfect weather, palm trees, blue ocean, exotic plants and of course, miles of exquisite white sandy beaches- there is only one place in the world where the epithet heaven on earth sits as comfortably as it does on Miami, Florida- our spring break destination for the year. Truth be told, initially I was bummed about the fact that we could not find accommodation anywhere near South Beach, but the place we had rented on Sunny Isles Beach, seemed like a pretty good deal. However, the minute I stepped into our luxury condo, I realized that ‘a pretty good deal’ was an understatement, it was a one-off. My jaws literally dropped as I walked into the fully functional apartment overlooking the ocean. As a matter of fact, it had an amazing view of the ocean and the beach. Moreover, the apartment was beautifully decorated and had everything one could ever ask for including a flat screen TV! Anyway, I was sort of apprehensive about the sleeping arrangements since the apartment had only one bedroom, but then it turned out that it had a queen size bed that easily accommodated the three of us. Not like I would mind sleeping on the sofa in the living area because that was really cozy as well. Therefore, the accommodation worked out really well for us- too well if you ask me because we squandered a significant portion of day 1 indoors just gushing over it. Nonetheless, we did go out in the evening for a while to swim and grab a couple of drinks at the waterside bar, but none of us were willing to explore beyond the walls of the beach fort. Consequently, we had to extend our stay. The next couple of days were spent visiting the countless tourist attractions Miami had to offer namely the Oleta River State Park, the Seaquarium and of course South Beach, all located minutes away from where we were staying. Considering my passion for arts and culture, I was particularly thrilled about the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, which was also a short drive away. As far as gastronomy is concerned, Miami is known to be very diverse and we were lucky enough to experience the wide variety of cuisines found in the nearby restaurants. To sum it all up, we made the most out of our time spent in Miami and I feel like that had a lot to do with our housing. Not only was it conveniently situated, but it had everything you can find at a 5 star hotel and came with a very reasonable price tag. Therefore, I would not only recommend it to anyone heading towards Miami, but insist that they stay at the Trump Miami Beach Pool Patio Ocean View Beach Fort. This fantastic place is guaranteed to give even the best hotels and resorts a run for their money.

What follows is a brief summary of how we started working with Dov, and why we have continued to work with him for five years. I've been working with Dov at Travelfurnish for quite a while. In this age of telecommuting, my wife and I are in the enviable position of being able to relocate our office without affecting our clients. Having said that, if we are to pick up and relocate, we must be absolutely assured that our accommodations can support both our business and leisure activities. We can't show up and find out that the promised broadband access is non-existent, or that the accommodations are otherwise unsuitable. 5 years ago, when we first started do this relocation thing, I actually flew down to Miami for one day, to see several places in order to make sure that there would be no surprises. I had pre-arranged four appointments with landlords or rental agents. TWO OF THEM NEVER SHOWED UP! One absentee landlord had no idea how to arrange parking in his area of Miami Beach. (I had to call the parking authority to find out that temporary visitors could not get parking stickers.) Only Dov actually showed up to meet me. He showed me the facilities we would be renting and went over the ground rules. He kept his promises and there were no surprises. Dov has now arranged 5 Miami Beach winter relocations for us, in 3 different vacation rentals in Miami Beach -- all without problems. He has earned our trust and loyalty.

I wanted to take my family to the keys on my wife's birthday. I figured it would be nice to get away from our home in Pembroke Pines to a nice ocean front house and possibly do some boating and fishing while we were down there. We came across travelfurnish.com and were a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews on this site. So we decided to call the office. My wife really liked the Blue dolphin, so I just wanted to please her. We first talked to Dov, and he explained the whole process of booking and how vacation rentals were not like booking a hotel. He said we would communicate through email so we would have a paper trail for everything we did. He sounded sincere, so we decided to book the trip. Luckily everything went smooth. When we arrived at the house, it was everything we expected and some. We were able to fish right off the dock, unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to go on a boat ride, but the relaxation of being right on the water, was more then worth it. Thank you for your patience Dov,and your team as I know my wife sent a lot of emails to you, but you guys should know, you helped me make her birthday special. Troy Moran

it is not acceptable that, after having confirmed us that the flat we chose "Mango Miami" (located at 7445 Harding Ave) was available and after having received our advance payment, at the very last minute (we were already at the airport by then) you informed us by email that the flat was in fact occupied and that we had to change location. You anyway informed us that you were able to offer us an alternative accommodation, in "Miami Beach Condo" (located at 635 83rd St.) of the same quality standard and at the same distance from the beach. In your emails, you mentioned that the new location was even better than the original one. Both you and your assistant Liz insisted that the new location fully met our needs and Liz categorically wrote that the new flat was at a five minutes walks from the beach. When we arrived in Miami, last night (or better to say, the following morning when we had the chance to see the place where you accommodated us), we were absolutely upset at discovering that your promises were deceptive and that the alternative accommodation you offered was not of the same (or even comparable) quality standard and distance from beach as the flat we paid for. As already outlined on the phone, the flat you gave us is four blocks farther from the beach than the flat we paid for and, differently from what had been expressly represented by Liz, it is certainly not a five minutes’ walk from there. Moreover, this flat does not have the wi-fi connection and the laundry we also caimed and paid for and, more in general, its features, furniture and location is not of the same quality standards. Under the circumstances, since to our great surprise you refused to help us to find a new accommodation in line with the flat we paid for, we shall seek for a suitable location for the rest of our stay and we ask you full reimbursement of any additional costs that shall be incurred by us in connection with this relocation. Meanwhile, I hereby ask you to promptly reimburse us for the rent we paid you in advance for an accommodation you were not able to provide us with. No response.

Amazing! That basically sums up my vacation! The house was in tiptop shape and the backyard was beautiful! Everything inside the house screamed Miami, from the colors of the walls to the bathrooms. I was Impressed on how comfortable the beds and all of the furniture in the house was. Why would I ever stay at a hotel in a room when I can have a beautiful house like this every time I visit Miami? Lincoln Road was only a block away and the beach was just a five-minute walk. The owner was very kind and helpful and check in and out was easier then I thought. It was also a great value. After researching hotels in that area, we would have paid a lot more for just a room and some beds then we did at this beautiful house. Thank you once again and you can bet we will be returning and staying again

I am really happy with what I got. We booked the ocean front Roney in the South Beach of Miami's Florida. The booking went great and I would highly reckomend this website to friends. My sister was the one who told me about them. She used travelfurnish about 2 years ago. At that time she called them a week before she was planned to arrive. She wanted to add an extra day, and notified the staff there that she would need to bring an extra person. They offered her a bigger place at no charge which I thought was really generous. She also had a wonderful time. I wish I could pay the whole deal with a credit card but we got such a great price on this gorgeous home that I did not mind the few payment methods. Checkin was smooth although we did have to wait about 10 minutes for the keys to arrive. I could have had them mailed to me before hand but opted to meet the owner there as I felt more comfortable that way. We were always in touch with the travelfurnish main office when we had an issue but thankfully none arised. It is wonderful to work with a company like this because when you travel this way it could get a little nervous if things go wrong but they were there anytime we called. In the property towels were clean, kitchen was fully stocked just like promised. All in all it was a great trip and great experience going the vacation rental by owner way. www.travelfurnish.com is a easy site to use and make bookings with. I suggest that if you want to get a great deal and live like you are in your own home away from home you try them out. I hope you find my review helpful. And as a sall business owner myself I am sure it makes a difference to them. Good luck. God willing I can get back soon. Thanks!

Thanks for a great time! I rented a place thought travelfurnish and it was a great experience. I must have called 100 places but Travelfurnish had what I found to be prices and selection. They had staff that met us at the property and everything was perfect. I read some reviews below about other people and when I asked about it dov told me they try to satisfy everyone but sometimes it is just not possible. Most of what they wrote are not true as I saw emails from clients that totally are opposite of what they are saying. I think the main problem is that people think renting a vacation rental by owner is like going to a hotel and it is not. When I checked in I was told that this condo does not operate like a hotel. The owners here are renting them out to clients but you cant expect room service or go to the management office for every little issue you have. I also understand and read in the terms and conditions that there is a possibility that since all these properties are one of a kind and individually owned if it becomes unavailable I will not be able to expect that I will get exactly the same thing in exchange. What I will get will be different but just as nice or even nicer. I can accept that considering I am saving about 400 dollars off of the hotel rate and getting a lot more. All in all I was very satisfied with travelfurnish and have told many friends about their service. No one I know of has any issues and I was shown proof that all the bad reviews are basically made by one disgruntled patron. It is to bad the internet allows one person to post really bad news about a company under many names. It should not be allowed but I guess it is part of keeping the Internet free

I think that the grade of D- that Travelfurnish.com got from the Better Business Bureau speaks for itself.

In addition, the owner Dov used to run a site called Miami Beach Furnished rentals which is now shut down. The BBB gave it an F!

I'm Polish and I go around the world. Now I am in Singapore. I was rented a house in America. It was a big house. Much larger than needed. I give them a four because beofre I'm flying to the United States call me and say that the house I wanted was not available, but they can give me a bigger house. They said a bigger house will be nicer, I say okay, fine. When I got home it was too big. I was the only person staying there, and not for very long. But it did not cost me extra so it was okay. When I was in Miami I saw the Versace house, a place that TV tattoo was done, and many people from other countries such as myself. I wish the trip Furnish had an office in New York. I would reserve my time there with them.

I'm not even sure where to begin, but...a group of 8 of us planned a trip to Miami and inquired about the Eagle's Nest. Dov quoted the incorrect price for this property and when he realized this, he did not take responsiblity for his mistake and stated that we could no longer get that house for the original quoted price. We then asked what houses were available within our price range. He listed a few available, to which we decided upon Sobe Grande. We placed a deposit on the property and booked our flights. One week prior to our scheduled arrival, Dov emailed us to state that the Sobe Grande house (that we put a DEPOSIT on!!) was no longer available. He had another renter interested and chose to give the house to them. Dov mentioned that the Roman View was available, and acted like he was doing us a favor by giving it to us for the same price. Not until we arrived did we discover that our house was downgraded from our original. It was not a 4 BR like mentioned, but a 3 BR...however the owner

I've used TravelFurnish twice now. The first time went off without a hitch. Most recently, though, the property I reserved became unavailable shortly before my arrival date. I guess the owner of the property wasn't able to rent it for whatever reason. I didn't have to lift a finger: TravelFurnish upgraded my property for FREE! My wife and I stayed a week in an ocean front 4 bedroom 3 bath with a pool and beautiful landscaping - it was truly incredible. Especially considering how little we spent on it. For the cost of 3 nights in a hotel we stayed a week and had our own private residence. It was really great. I'd reccomend this company to anyone looking to vacation.

Although we had made a reservation in August 2011 for a unit in Hallandale Florida for the month of February 2012.We received a cancellation notice one week before we were supposed to come down. They did offer us another unit in a different town, but we refused because we had a reason for wanting Hallandale. If this is not bait ans switch then I don't know what is? This company apparently has done this to other persons and I would never recomend them to anyone. Michael Warman Roslyn Hts,NY

I am sorry to hear of your experience. It seems Dov continues to screw people who book properties months in advance, put down a deposit, and assume that it will be available. If you've read "Worst Travel Nightmare" below, then you know what Travel Furnish did to us.
In our case, we had to pay $2000 more for the last minute booking of a comparable property, plus over $370 that Travel Furnish didn't refund to us claiming it was a booking fee. I'm still paying off the credit card bill!!
Please, file a report with the Better Business Bureau against this guy. We intend to do the same.

Tom30 (or Dov, the owner of Travelfurnish.com),
Thanks for commenting on your own business. Unfortunately, the owners seem to "change their minds" and "unexpected" things happen a lot with you. Boy, that's really strange - I've never had a hotel "call me" last minute saying that they don't have a room if I reserved one with them. Bizarre.
Guest (or also Dov, the owner of Travelfurnish.com)
Thanks again for commenting on your own business.
You really know your terms and conditions well! Thanks for quoting them for us and using it to justify why your clients shouldn't expect to get the property they booked after booking months in advance and putting down a deposit!!!

I've used travel furnish twice before and both times were great. One time my property became unavailable too... but I was ready for it. My advice to you would be to read the terms and conditions. I did. The terms say... I'll just copy and paste it here:
"Reserving a vacation rental by owner property can save you hundreds of dollars off hotel rates. However, reserving a vacation rental by owner property is different than making a reservation at a hotel. A hotel has hundreds of identical properties located within one building. If one property becomes unavailable the hotel can replace it with an exact replica. In contrast, every vacation rental by owner property is unique. When one of these properties become unavailable replacing it with an exact replica is not possible. The replacement options will be similar or better properties but none will be exactly the same as the original and rates may vary. If you are unable to accept this organic fact about renting vacation rental by owner properties we suggest that you make arrangements with a hotel instead."
It's hardly a bait and switch when it states, in plain English, on their website what may happen when a reserved property becomes unavailable.
The instance I mentioned above in which my reservation was changed - it worked out to my benefit! We got moved to an oceanfront property with more space than my wife and I could use in the week we stayed.
I've told my friends about TravelFurnish; it's easy on the wallet and offers a unique experience. Much better than the cookie-cutter hotel market.

That can happen if you book an apartment from an owner. Unfortunately there are owner who change their mind or have a better deal for a longer renting time, something unexpected happens...It is something special and not like in a hotel and you also have to see that.
I booked also with travelfurnish.com and we had a similar situation but we got a great other deal and we were very happy!! What would you do, if you book a hotel and they call you shortly before you come down? They don't give you other options and you start from the beginning. With travelfurnish.com we just could choose something else without a heart attack.

Six of us rented a house and 6 others rented a suite in Miami. We got a call 1 week prior and told us the person didn't want to rent out the house for personal reasons. We had a choice of 3 others. After all the confusion from them we picked one of the choices. What a nightmare the house was!!! Not at all like the pictures and when we got there the owner (who happened to live upstairs and kept coming into our space) asked for more money. Also the other 6 that rented a suite got a call the day before they left and said there's was unavailable but they had another one that would accommodate the 6. When they got to Miami it was just a one bedroom apartment. Never again. Sounds like this is how they operate...they should be shut down!!!!!!
